## Transcript

Money is here in the health closet to find out one big question, can you be a snob on a budget? [ MUSIC ] Joining us now is Senior Fitness Editor, Rosalyn Frazer. Rosalyn, thank you so much for joining us. Thank you. So if you wanna get fit and you don't really wanna pay a lot for the gym membership, what else can you do? Well you can do a lot in your home. There are a [ LAUGH ] lot of great apps, and streaming websites you can kind of log onto, I mean Nike has a big training app which they've just kind of re- released, so tons of workouts, all different levels. So that's an option, a lot of celebrity trainers have their own streaming sites.

Simone De La Rue has Body by Simone Anna Kaiser has AKT. So there are a wealth of options of what you can do in your home. And then you also kind of buy some gadgets and work it out yourself. So with these apps or fitness programs at home, can you try them out before you commit to them? The Nike one is actually free. Some of the streaming services, do you have a child, period And depending on how much you want to invest, some can be as low as $ 10 a month, some can be about $ 100 a month. And if you do have the motivation to work out at home, you say that there are some great pieces of fitness equipment to invest in to help you achieve that.

One thing is a stability ball. It's something that you can do crunches on, you can do a plank on. It Forces you to work on your balance more. You have to really activate your core when you're using a piece of equipment like that. Also, I don't know if you've seen those little gliders that kind of slides. Sure. So those make some of the most simple movements, like maybe lunges or mountain climbers, a little more difficult and kinda get your heart rate up more, so then you're getting that extra cardio. Also resistance bands Bands. You can use them whether you're gonna do arm curls, hip ups, and things of that nature.

And I think you always should have a lacrosse ball with you, to roll it out after. If you don't want a big foam roller. You know, you can kind of get in there, relieve those sore muscles. Sure. And if you are trying to work out on your own. What should you be shooting for in terms of length, and maybe the number of times a week? It really depends on the person, and what they're fitness level is. So I don't wanna say, this is exactly it. But I would say about 30 minutes a day at least. You know you should try to build up. So if you haven't been working out first make sure you go to your doctor get the okay and then just kind of build up to different things.

So if you're just starting back maybe you can only do one push up. Or two push ups, and you're on your knees at first. But by the end you're on your feet and you can really bang them out. Great, [ UNKNOWN ] Frazier, thank you so much. Thanks for having me. [ MUSIC ]
