## Transcript

>> Armed men in unmarked military uniforms take more key buildings in the Crimea region of Ukraine and ousted President Viktor Yanukovych officially resurfaces. Yanukovych spoke to dozens of reporters in the Southern Russian City of Rostov- on- Don saying he was not overthrown last week and calling the Ukrainian parliament illegitimate. In his press conference, Yanukovych insisted he never ordered police in the Ukrainian capital of Kiev to fire on protestors last week. New government leaders want him tried for mass murder. More than 80 people died in protest that ultimately led to Yanukovych's ouster.

Protestors were angry his government spurned a deal with the European Union in favor of a bailout from Russia. In the press conference, Yanukovych said of the crisis, I am ashamed, more than that. I would like to say sorry first of all to the veterans, to the Ukrainian people for what happened in Ukraine that I did not have enough strength to keep stability and that I allowed this lawlessness to take hold of the country. Yanukovych vowed to keep fighting, blamed the west for protest and said he is still the country's' rightful leader. Tensions in Ukraine increasingly threatened to go international as western powers and Russia effectively grappled over who has leverage in the former Soviet Republic.

After armed men took the parliament building in Crimea Thursday, more took at least two airports Friday. No one is officially claiming responsibility.

>> These troops are in command of the control tower and part of the terminal building. They don't have any insignia on their uniforms. It's unknown exactly who they are.

>> While the acting Ukrainian president said the man who took the airports in Crimea were Russian troops, Russia has denied that saying it must be a local self- defense militia. This comes just a day after a similar group took Crimea's parliament building and raised a Russian flag from the roof and Russia held massive military exercises along the Ukrainian border. Many world leaders interpret the exercises as a show of power involving 150, 000 troops and 90 fighter jets on combat alert. I'm Megan Judy.
