## Transcript

Amid the devastation of what Saturday's mudslide in Washington left behind. And what is turning more and more to despair for those still missing. Officials released dramatic video of a four- year- old boy rescued from the mud and debris. [ SOUND ] You can see members of the Snohomish County helicopter rescue team Jumping out to grab Jacob Spillers and then loading him unharmed into the chopper. We understand that he has three half- siblings and his father who were still trapped in the wreckage, but he was rescued. His mother apparently was at work at the time. The Seattle Times reports Jacob's mother Eventually found him by searching hospitals.

And he was one of the last people pulled from the mud alive. KIRO spoke to a member of the rescue crew over the phone. You know, this kid's a little older than my grandson. But he kinda, go through. Well, you know, if that was Eli I'd, I'd do whatever I had to do. Headlines worldwide also noted spirits have grown grim in Oso. As officials have admitted some bodies may never be recovered from the debris because of the quicksand- like terrain. Thursday morning, the official death toll was 16 though the number of people confirmed missing still stood at 90. I'm Jamal Andress.
