>> Jay Leno said a tearful and final goodbye on The Tonight Show Thursday. Here is how he ended it all.

>> This has been the greatest 22 years of my life. I got to meet presidents, astronauts, movie stars. It's just been incredible-- Now that I brought the room down.

>> Leno thanked the audience for their loyalty and said The Tonight Show crew had been his family, tearing up when he talked about how his mother, father, and brother all died within his first few years as host. So, he became incredibly close with the crew. And Leno said he was excited for new host Jimmy Fallon. Of course, Leno left once before infamously when Conan O'Brien took over, but Thursday night he said, " It really is time to go ." The show had more than tears though, Leno re- interviewed his first guest ever Billy Crystal. They joked about the old days and then a surprise parody performance of 'So long, Farewell' from the Sound of Music.

It included celebrities from Carol Burnett to Kim Kardashian-- yes, Kim Kardashian sang. Leno signed off by quoting his predecessor Johnny Carson telling the audience he bid them a heartfelt goodnight.
