[ SOUND ] The Royal Baby has arrived. The Duchess of Cambridge has given birth to a baby boy. Catherine was taken to St. Mary's Hospital early this morning. The baby was born at 4: 24 p. m. London time. He weighed eight pounds, six ounces. The child's official title will be His Royal Highness Prince, followed by the baby's name, of Cambridge. In keeping with royal tradition, the Queen's Press Secretary posted the royal birth announcement outside of Buckingham Palace. The couple has not yet announced the child's name. Reporters from across the globe flocked to London, as well as onlookers anxious for news.

Right. I'm just so excited about it. I had to come up to the dais. So, exciting. It's great news for England. In 2011, the Commonwealth passed a law that ensures this baby will fall in the line of succession to the throne, regardless of whether it was a boy or a girl. The infant will be third in line behind the queen's son, Charles, and his son, William. With the royal baby will come retail regalia. A UK based research company estimates retailers will sell 121 [ MUSIC ] million dollars worth of royal baby related toys and souvenirs. In London, I'm Vladimir [ UNKNOWN ] reporting.
