## Transcript

So one of our 100 Most Influential People is Lang Lang the Chinese pianist and Lang Lang is an interesting mix of a bunch of different things, high culture, low culture, Chinese culture, American culture. At age 3 he actually learned to play the piano or wanted to play the piano because he was watching Tom and Jerry cartoons and saw the animated characters playing piano, and so he picked that up. He has amazing classical technique. He's renowned throughout the world, but he's also playful and we actually got Herbie Hancock, the jazz pianist, to write about him. The two of them are going on tour this summer and Hancock writes about when the two of them got together just to sort of work out a program and how they improvise and play.

And you know Lang Lang's ability to group lots of different techniques and cultures into one thing, classical piano, makes him one of the 100 most influential people in the world.
