The PlayBook, as it's called, will be available early next year. Let's take a look at what to expect. For starters, the PlayBook will be relatively thin and light. It's about 5 inches wide by 7- 1 / 2 inches long, by less than 1 / 2 an inch thick. It's about the size of this Pandigital Novel right here, 7 inch screen. This thing is going to be fast and powerful. It's got a dual core 1 gigahertz processor. Whereas every other tablet available now, it just has a single core processor. The PlayBook will also feature 1 gigabyte of RAM, one full gigabyte of system memory to run the operating system, the user interface, the web browser, all the programs. It's got a full web- kit based internet browser similar to Apple Safari or Google Chrome. It should be very fast because of that dual core processor and a 1 gigabyte of RAM. Two cameras, front facing and the rear facing, unlike other phones and tablets, the front facing camera will shoot HD video. Blackberry's tablet operating system had been built from the ground up, specifically for this tablet. It runs a tablet system known as QNX, which is a mission critical operating system that's commonly found in cars and security systems, stuff like that. So, it's gonna be very secure and very stable, and again, built specifically for this tablet. Two things are missing from all the information, the price, which will be a huge factor, and the battery life. You've got this dual core processor. You've got this powerful operating system. No mention of battery life and the device is so thin and light that they couldn't have possibly stuffed a big capacity battery in there. So, who knows how long the battery's gonna last. It's got a built in wifi chips you can connect to your home network, your office network, or if you wanna connect to a cellular network, you will need to do so through a blackberry handset. That may drive the price of the tablet down, which is good, the base price. But, it's gonna leave people who don't own blackberries out and allergic if they wanna use their tablet out in the middle of the field somewhere.
