It's always busy and there's never a dull moment. [ SOUND ] School's first, obviously, and then what time is left is generally taken up by Soccer. They all have two Soccer practices each a week, at least we're doing seven or eight games probably on a weekend, anywhere in northern California. Yeah, it's everything. Love you, see you later. It was 2008 in July when we moved out here. The transition from England to here was obviously a huge one, but they were playing soccer within a month of being here. There's friends they're making at school, they're making friends at soccer, and then with four boys playing, obviously we're starting to make four groups of parents. So early on it's much easier for us to integrate as well. [ MUSIC ] Reese was lucky enough to make a US soccer development academy. The experience is really taking him to another level. Playing for the academy is a lot of fun cuz you get a lot of soccer. It's a lot more commitment and it's longer practices. The games are a lot more difficult, cuz it's the best kids in California on each team. Music plays in background. We made the mistake of taking him to a soccer camp. When he finished, one of his coaches came to talk to us. He was very passionate about Reese and he was like well yeah, he should be playing competitive soccer and he should come do this with our team. Competitive soccer is too expensive. He said this in front of Reese. Which was a clever ploy. Once you've done it for one child, how could you not do it for the others if they want to play? And each and every one of them Always wanted to do it. I mean one thing they all have in common as soccer players is they're all clever. They all see the game really well, and they read the game really nicely. And they're all looking to do the right thing. As kids they're all different. Bryn is a world unto himself. He's probably the biggest character of them all. Yeah. Well he's the littlest, so he's trying to keep up with his big brothers all of the time. Taine has confidence in himself. Kye always thinks before he does things. He's the most considerate? Yes. By far. Of all the boys? Rhys is confident in public situations. He has no problem speaking out or standing up for himself. They're very patient of each other. And I think being four, if they fall out with one of them, they just go and find someone else to play with. Oh. [ MUSIC ] Yeah. The soccer is a big part of it though because it's a nice outlet for energy, and it keeps them from gadgets all day long. It is expensive, but it is our choice. What it does impact is how much you can save for college and how much do you put in a pension. So pretty much all of our spare cash goes to play soccer. Especially now that they're becoming teenage boys, then the food bills are just shooting up. They're out growing cleats every three months, and it's suddenly becoming really expensive. College is going to be really scary Any kind of scholarship or award that can happen with college students, good grades would be great. If anything comes form soccer that would be a bonus. I don't expect it as such. although if it could maybe a tie- breaker for him to get into a better school, that would be cool. I'm not expecting him to be the next Arnoldo, I'm not expecting him to be the next millionaire I just want them to be happy.
