Ready, [ INAUDIBLE ] Hello, [ LAUGH ] hi, how are you, you're okay? hey how are you? I'm ready to go, do you want me to Skype in so you can see me on your screen? Ooh hey James, I can see you now, can you see me? Hi, here are the flags. Beautiful I'm James Barr, a ginger royal- loving Harry fan in the UK. And I'm Kristen Meinzer, an Anglophile, right here in the good old US of A. And this is when Megan met Harry, a royal wedding cast. All right. Shall we get to this week's headlines? Let's messy bun and get this done. [ MUSIC ] I was very quiet I think. Being ginger, I used to get bullied at school for that.

I mean, being ginger is not anywhere near as difficult as race or sexuality but if in any way you feel like you're different to anyone else, you need people in mainstream media that make you feel less alone and Harry definitely did that for me or helped to. [ MUSIC ] I grew up in Minnesota and my primary influences were my late mother, who was an anglophile, and my late grandmother, my nana, who loved reading the tabloids. And it's no surprise that between those two I ended up becoming a little bit obsessed with the royals from a very young age. Just seeing Harry grow up at the same time as me, it made it kind of feel like Harry was sort of my big brother, you know?

It's just really amazing seeing someone like Meghan come in because you can see how much they love each other. This particular generation of the royal family is getting rid of a lot of the pomp and circumstance. They're changing the rules. Meghan and Harry, they've already started promoted LGTQ + rights, which is, as a gay man, a huge thing. They have been talking about environmental health or issues in mental health and female rights. In the past I feel like the royal family, they didn't wanna come off as political, and Will and Harry know the difference. Some things, it's not even about politics, it's about being decent.

Meghan bringing Finally, some diversity into that family. And I can see why that would make this particular wedding much more appealing to the young people of the world, because the young people of the world look more like Megan. Okay, today's prediction. [ LAUGH ] Is everyone ready? This is a big one. William will pull a prank on Harry on the wedding day. Yes, each week we take our predictions for the wedding day, assemble them into a Bingo board slash drinking game and on the wedding day itself we'll release that Bingo board and you can all drink along with us and celebrate with us as all these predictions come true.

Yeah, make sure you put your gin on tap it's going to be lit. I'm excited about watching the wedding and getting pretty Mary. [ LAUGH ] As our predictions all come true? One of the more interesting things to look for, is Princess Diana's family has offered her the chance to wear one of her tiaras at the wedding. It will be interesting to see if she chooses to do that, or possibly wear one of The Queen's tiaras. I didn't know until I started doing this podcast that Men in the Royal Family didn't traditionally wear a ring. Like William doesn't wear a wedding ring, so one of our predictions is that Harry will.

And I hope he does because he's a different kind of man. There have been rumors that Harry's major exes will be there, Chelsea Davi and Kressler Bonus I like to think they won't be there, I don't like it when exes come to the wedding, just leave them in the past, it's time for the future. Another really strange tradition that we found out that in America the groom faces the birde as she enters the church. Whereas in the UK and at a royal wedding, the tradition says that the man doesn't turn around. So the man Stand there waiting, and only turns as the bride arrives, so that is kind of odd. I feel like Harry will definitely sneak a peek.

There are rumors that some members of the Suits cast will be there, I wouldn't be surprised Megan worked with them for many, many years. And there will be other celebrities. There i'm certain. Elton John. When Wills and Kate got married Wills drove the car, the Aston Marton, off for the honeymoon. I feel like they'll break tradition of the man driving and Megan's gonna be driving that car. She deserves to be driving that car. Get Harry in the back seat. [ INAUDIBLE ] Had the ring on my finger. I was like, can I give you the ring? She goes, yes, the ring! [ LAUGH ] [ LAUGH ] So. I don't there's anybody on the planet who is not cheering for these two.

I think we're gonna look back at this wedding as a real moment in history. Plitically speaking, what's happening in the UK and the US is frequently aguly. It's about discrimination and more about keeping outsiders out. And this wedding is about the opposite of all those. Those things. It's about the joining of nations and of people of different races. This doesn't feel at all like a stuff the royal wedding. This feels like a real love story and that to me what I'm excited about. All right. And that's it for this week's episode of When Megan Met Harry. Until next time, I'm James Barr. And I'm Kristen Meinzer.

Love you, bye. Bye- bye. [ MUSIC ]
