[ MUSIC ] It has been nearly one year since Boko Haram militants kidnapped 276 school girls in Chibok, Nigeria . >> Who is responsible to bring back these girls? Is it not the government ? >> President Goodluck Jonathan is running as the incumbent in the Nigerian election. Are our armed forces weak? Are the Nigerians in the armed forces weak? [ CROSSTALK ]. If we have problems, what is the cause? E, e, e, e, equipment. But the leadership has postponed the elections due to security concerns. [ CROSSTALK ]. I don't know if the president knows this much. That people are actually dying every. I think it boils down to corruption. Cut into the press then, cuz we even ask world money to fight Boucharam. And still, we still have, these troops saying that they don't have enough they don't have sophisticated weapons. To fight. So you begin to wonder that where are they spending the money? Nigeria's annual military budget is somewhere between $ 5 -$ 6 billion according to former U. S. Ambassador to Nigeria John Campbell. But some Nigerian soldiers complain that they are sent into battle with only a few dozen bullets each. While Boko Haram fighters are equipped with RPGs. Despite this, the President claims he will destroy Boko Haram before the March 28th elections. What do we want? I want justice now on the line. When. When shall we stop? [ FOREIGN ] While they wait, local activists are demanding that the government make bringing back the Chibok girls a top priority. [ MUSIC ] War is silent. The war of the silent. The war just wants to forget that two hundred and ninety. My two girls are out there with terrorists. Just imagine what you did today. You woke up when you wanted to. You had shower when you wanted to and breakfast when you wanted to. What are the two poor girls doing? [ MUSIC ] It will be triple girls will be forgotten today. Who is going to be forgotten tomorrow? This is the question that we all begin to ask ourselves as Nigerians. If something happens to me, what happens ? >> The Boko Haram insurgency has estimated to have killed more than ten thousand people last year. The group now controls a territory in northeastern Nigeria roughly the size of Costa Rica. [ FOREIGN ] It's un, inconceivable. A sovereign country like Nigeria. They're losing territory just like that. To rag- tag militias. If this gu- gu- ca, government, god forbid, is going to be successful on the elections, before the end of the next four years there won't be a Niger any more. [ MUSIC ] Mahammadu Buhari is the challenging presidential candidate. What can do different is to empower the law enforcement agencies to be much more efficient. And a formal military dictator, who took power in a 1983 coo. Although his presidency was marked by a tough stand on corruption, he cracked down on civil liberties and freedom of the press. [ MUSIC ] Since then, he has run three times for president. And lost. This time around, he's competing on a platform of security. And he promises to wrap up the fight against Boko Haram. [ FOREIGN ] If we don't vote, they will say [ FOREIGN ]. People are just making noise. Nigerians don't care. There is no closure. So we as Nigerians have decided to continue to come out here every day to seek for people's votes. Despite the grassroots efforts to encourage citizens to vote, there's still a foreboding sense that the girls will be forgotten no matter who takes office. We Nigerians, we don't know where we're heading. We don't know where we're head into. If you vote to [ FOREIGN ] you vote problem. If you vote [ FOREIGN ] you vote problem. I just want to know who to vote for.
