## Transcript

American Idol's latest elimination leaves Jennifer Lopez in tears. Malaya Watson, unfortunately. Oh! [ SOUND ] CJ is safe. [ MUSIC ] Entertainment Weekly was sad to see spunky 16- year- old marching band member Malaya Watson head home. I'm a little upset about Malaya being voted off. But not really surprised. Her final performance of I Am Changing from Dreamgirls was really powerful and emotional. Though I was a little distracted by the tears streaming down her face and fogging up her glasses. It's at this point you are reminded that she is still just a 16- year- old girl. And People notes it was especially hard to say goodbye knowing Malaya missed out on the judge's one save by just one week.

Last Thursday, the American Idol top eight spent elimination night celebrating the judges' choice to use their only save of the season on contestant Sam Woolf. But this week the reality set in that there are no more second chances. The judges stood for Watson, who wiped tears away as her goodbye package rolled. But remember, Malaya's only 16. This is just the beginning. Thanks for watching. I'm Bryce Sander.
