[ MUSIC ] Are there any online tools or apps that can help a student and his or her parents narrow down the search? There is online tools and apps that are good to a point. The key thing to be aware of when you're researching on line is that often times rankings will focus on graduate school. [ MUSIC ] All rankings, but they won't specify that. So a school that is excellent for a certain program, it might not be available to undergrads. And you need to be on it and make sure you know if what they're talking about relates to you right now. Like a great example of that is Yale has an excellent graduate program for theater It's one of the best in the world, but it's not really an undergraduate program.

Right, there you might wanna go to NYU for theater as an undergrad, right? Exactly, but honestly, if you're going online, going to a school's website directly is gonna be the most helpful in just learning about details about programs and opportunities. Is there any way to make sure that a third party site, or app, or something is reputable? That's a really good question. Part of why we wrote the book is it is kind of the wild west, out there. There's some great options and there's some not- so- great options, and it's hard sometimes, especially if you're new to this. To ascertain which is which.

Going to that school's website, while it's somewhat labor- intensive because there's a lot of schools out there, can be so helpful because you're not getting hearsay. [ MUSIC ]
