## Transcript

Initially, it was made clear to us that the White House had given [ UNKNOWN ] the same instructions that were given to Steve Bannon, and that is not to answer any questions pertaining to the transition or to her time at the administration, and only to answer questions up until the end of the campaign. Again, this is a breathtakingly broad claim of privilege that I don't think any court would sustain, and I think the White House knows that. This is not executive privilege, this is executive stonewalling. During the course of questioning, when it was clear that Those two periods would be off limits.

We requested the majority to issue a subpoena on the spot, to use essentially the same process that we used with Steve Bannon. The majority declined to do so. There's apparently one rule for Steve Bannon, and another rule for everyone else. Vis -- vis anything that happened during the campaign, she did answer our questions With respect to what happened during the transition she answered most of our questions but not all of them and with respect to the effort to deal with the public disclosure of the Trump tower meeting she would not answer any of those questions since they took place after the transition.
