I, I made a conscious decision not to see how other people have portrayed Marilyn Monroe. I didn't want to go, I didn't want to hurt myself. I didn't want to handicap myself. I didn't want to effect anything that I was going to do. And once in the middle of the night when I was feeling a little dangerous, I went on and [ INAUDIBLE ] and I saw this drag queen do Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend. Wow [ LAUGH ]. But he'd also had a lot of plastic surgery so he resembled her And you know, ultimately I know that what I was going for was something, well hopefully very different than that. I suppose ideally, and it's not just with Marilyn, I think it's with any character is a kind of inhabitation in that it's It's not it, I hope that I'm not there.

I hope I'm sort of nowhere to be seen and that it's hm, something more kind of psychic or channeled or something. I'm crazy about Some Like it Hot. I think I've seen everything that she's ever made. Multiple times. Which is really a joy and not a task or a work load at all. Although I love all of them, even the bad ones for different reasons. I think in River of No Return, I really love her, it's a terrible movie, but I love her singing and dancing in it and I love her performances in it, love the quality of her voice in it. And each one of them was helpful. Also to be able to see them in a timeline, to see the sort of character of Marilyn Monroe develop.

Each one was, was really useful for me finding out more about her. And, and especially seeing her. Oh, that is a character she's playing. I can see, you can see her honing it in the beginning, the voice is sort of lower and sounds more artificial and the wiggle doesn't have the kind of polish on it. So you see her so, you see her perfecting. Marilyn Monroe.
