[ MUSIC ] I'm with the lovely Ruth [ UNKNOWN ] who is wearing this beautiful red dress. And these earings are amazing. I know. And like, all through your hair, what are all these jewels? These are for [ UNKNOWN ] Irene Neuwirth for Gemfields, and they're sustainable and ethical so I wear them. And I'm wearing a custom made Valentino gown. Well, it's amazing and it's beautiful. Pretty awesome [ CROSSTALK ] I wanted to talk a little bit about your choice in accessory of an ACLU ribbon. Tell us a little bit about what motivated that. It's the American Civil Liberties Union and, well my Basic level of human rights, civil liberties, civil rights, and that's what they champion.

And they're a big part of our film. In our film, our film features two American Civil Liberties Union lawyers who changed the Constitution of the United States of America for the better, and I'm all for that. Now, we should say that you are Irish. And you came in to this movie which is the depart of our own civil rights history. Did you have any familiarity with the story, with the- Yes, I did. I have an interest in American history or And I find Emerita fascinating. And I happened upon Mildred's obituary, and it was very slim, and it mentioned that she invalidated these terrible mysogynationals, and mysogynationals.

And I couldn't believe, I tried to search for more about her and I couldn't find I couldn't believe it. And then Nancy Buirski made a documentary for HBO called The Loving Story. And she found, I don't know if this is apocryphal or not but she found footage of this couple in a wardrobe somewhere. And it was meant to be made into a documentary that never was. And they're beautiful, and they're gorgeous, and they're good. And all the want to do is be together, and And raise a family, and the law stopped them, and small mindedness stopped them. And the ACLU is about pulling that apart, small mindedness, putting it to bed.

And, yeah, that's our film, just a little film. Now when the movie was made, you didn't necessarily know what happened politically in the United Sates, obviously. So do you feel that this is a particularly A timely film, given what's going on in this country. And how do you feel, as someone coming from Europe to work here, how do you feel about this state? I think any time in history would have thirsted for this film. I think we're always Us needing a light at the end of the tunnel. And for it not to be the oncoming train, for it to be the idea that we can all aspire to greater things. And it's inspiring a lot of hopefulness in people and I'm really glad of that.
