## Transcript

We exited our planes. We realized that him and I had not returned on that same airport since the day we first landed here as refugees. And so, you know, it's a really overwhelming and emotional time for us. And I don't think, you know, as my dad said It was you had high hopes for us about the opportunities we would have when we came to this country, but I don't think he imagine that someday his baby would be going to Congress 20 years after we arrived here. I will I'm super proud to be representing New Mexico very diverse state. I'm proud that the voters of New Mexico feel that I. Work hard and do a good job, and that's exactly what I'll work hard to do.

For all of us as a country, this shows the changing face of Congress. It's a new generation. It's so many more women than we've ever seen before. And I think this is exactly what we need to take us into the future. I think just today we're gonna see how an effective Congress can work and we're gonna continue to set that example in the years To use a term from Kennedy, is this the passing of the torch? I really believe it is. And, we're going to see a transitonal period for the next couple of years but I'm really really excited about this new generation. And, not just a generation but a type, a culture, of cutters.

One that more accurately reflects the face of America? We are the people's house, and we are the people.
