## Transcript

Seth Blatter has been reelected to another four year term as president of FIFA over Prince Ali Benal Hussein. Not a surprise here. Everyone though that Seth Blatter would win this election. I was actually a little surprised by the number of votes that Prince Ali Did get here. What does this mean in the big picture? Well keep an eye now on this US Department of Justice investigation into FIFA. The arrests that took place in Zurich on Wednesday were a huge news story and that will continue. A 47- count indictment. Against FIFA officials for all different types of corruption. The question is will they get enough evidence from these 14 arrests that might take them higher up the food chain to people like Blatter.

For me, this vote today shows that FIFA isn't really able to change, doesn't care that much about change from the inside. It's going to take somebody coming from the outside That could be the US Department of Justice in its investigation but Attorney General Loretta Lynch said it's only the start of what they want to do. And it could the Swiss government in an undercover news story this week, the Swiss government announced that they're going to have their own governmental investigation into the bids for World Cup's 2018 and 22 in Russia and Qatar. This is an investigation that will have subpoena power.

I mean, you can have people put in jail for not cooperating. You can also go higher up the food chain, leverage people to provide evidence, that's what we need. In the past year, we've seen teams that have it's own internal investigations into those bids, no subpoena power. Not surprising, they didn't get any smoking guns that would have caused Qatar or Russia to lose that World Cup To follow in the future here, what goes on outside of FIFA that might cause them to finally change them or even go all the way to the top. Seth Bladder not indicted this week, but clearly the Department of Justice wants to get some information on him from the people that were arrested.

This is an ongoing story that will play out over the next several weeks. Keep following the news on Planet Futbol. [ MUSIC ]
