You may need to sit down for this one. New reports suggest Hollywood's most eligible bachelor, George Clooney, just got engaged. People reports the 52- year- old actor recently popped the question to his most recent girlfriend, Amal Alamuddin. A source familiar with the situation said the couple is trying to keep things very low key, but they also aren't really trying to hide this. I think it's like they want the people they love to know that this is real, that they plan on being together forever. The rumors began flying Thursday, after Alamuddin was spotted at a Malibu restaurant with what looked like a massive ring on her significant finger.

If the story pans out, Clooney's made quite a catch. The 36 year old Alamuddin is an accomplished lawyer specializing in international law and human rights, whose clients list includes WikiLeaks founder, Julian Assange. As for Clooney, he's well, he's Clooney. The actor's aversion to marriage despite a long list of romantic entanglements has been a running joke in Hollywood for some time now. Clooney has been married once before, though. In 1989, he wed actress Talia Balsam, but the couple divorced in 1993 and the actor hasn't shown any inclination to walk down the aisle since then. In 2007, he told Esquire, I haven't had aspirations in that way, ever.

I was married in 1989. I wasn't very good at it. But apparently, Alamuddin has convinced him to give matrimony another shot. One source told Us Weekly the couple's relationship is the healthiest one Clooney's ever been in. He seems incredibly happy and Amal is such a sweet and intelligent girl, who has her own thoughts and ideas and doesn't just bow down to everything he says.
