## Transcript

The images are menacing. They're merging. They're gonna merge. Two tornadoes ripped through northeast Nebraska, leaving a path of destruction in their wake. This is definitely the first time I've seen two tornadoes like that, that violent on, on the same storm. A lot times you'll see multiple tornadoes with one dominant one, and then a weaker one. Quite an event to see up close. Natural tornadoes go by and then to see the devastation is unreal until you actually see it. The worst hit was a small town of Pilger, about 90 miles from Omaha. Officials are still assessing the damage, but they estimate nearly three quarters of the town is gone.

Three houses on the opposite side of the block that are gone. What about your sister's house? It's gone. It was on the corner and it, it's gone. Sick. Yes, everyone, we lost everything. Pilger is not alone. Damage has spread across four towns. Nebraska's governor has declared a state of emergency, putting the National Guard on standby. Now residents are left to pick up what's left of their town. Rebuild. Gonna take a long time. So. The National Weather Service says this same weather system spawned 32 tornadoes across four states.
