>> I've been thinking about starting a foundation really for a long time and, you know, while that I was still prime minister and the purpose of it is so that we achieve a greater understanding between the different religious faiths and so that we make platforms for action by those faith and dealing with some of the big issues in the world. For example- millennium development goals and so on, so- should be an interfaith and counter through action. But also so that we show that faith is something positive, a force for progress, something to do with our future as well as our past. And I want the foundation therefore to be, you know, actively promoting- I mean the greater understanding between the faiths, but also lead to action by the faiths in society, in the world for the greater public good.

>> Is there a way in which your faith has helped you make decisions or come to terms with the decisions that you've made during your longer--

>> I think for political leaders where in fact for anyone who is of faith, it's not that in a- in a practical realistic world. You kind of, you know, wonder one relationship with God that tells you what decisions to make in any of the difficult domestic or foreign policy decisions that you'll take as a prime minister or a president. I mean that's not how it works, but I think faith gives you a certain strength and gives you a support in doing a job as difficult as leading a country. And gives you that strength and support particularly, I think to do what you think is right whether it is right or not is another judgment, but at least to try to take decisions that you believe are in accordance with what you think is right.
