## Transcript

[ MUSIC ] The team put in charge of redesigning the Mustang was led by Mark Fields who's now CEO of Ford. He was told by Bill Ford, the chairman, a couple of choice words. Ford said, don't [ BLEEP ] it up. [ MUSIC ] And they didn't. [ MUSIC ] This is the GT version of the Mustang. It hearkens back to the original GT created by Carol Shelby in 1964. When another Ford, Henry the second, told him he wanted a hot version of the Mustang, Shelby grudgingly Created one, and it became a legend. [ MUSIC ] There are a number of differences in the Mustang from the prior models. Now Ford had to create a world car.

Something that could be manufactured all over the world. So they made a car that was a little lower, a little wider. They pulled out the solid rear axle, put in independent rear suspension and once they did that they had to fix the front end too, because it no longer worked. So what you have is a bit of a sleeker car actually. It's a five liter 435 horsepower engine. Now, the Mustang's come with a variety of power plants, a four- liter, a V6, and here we have the V8. It's not that fast actually, but it just surges with power and really can feel this monster in th hood and there's nothing else about the car that's It's particularly over the top.

This is not a car that's gonna make the road very smooth for you. You're gonna feel everything which is part of the fun of it. [ MUSIC ] It will cost you about $ 35, 000 just to get into the GT version. Now you can get into Mustangs for $ 10, 000 less than that. This is the upgraded GT. Now in terms of the visuals, what you can see outta this thing is sorta like in a torpedo going forward. Very small mirrors on either side, so it's a feeling that you're kinda locked into this really fast thing, and you are. Here on the speed- o, it's marked 'ground speed.' [ MUSIC ] Of course, the Mustang really referenced the P51 fighter plane from World War 2.

And you can see that in the in [ UNKNOWN ] design here behind me. I've always like the GTs. I've always liked them just for what they are. A lot of power in a basic car, and it just goes. It's not. The most comfortable car in the world, it's not the smoothest, but it's just a lot of fun and it goes. [ MUSIC ]
