## Transcript

[ MUSIC ] Facebook's quarterly earnings report is coming up and if there's one thing folks are expecting it's ads. [ MUSIC ] With Facebook ads, you're always in control of you budget. Analysts are expecting Facebook to announce a decent haul in revenue at somewhere around $ 3. 8 billion. Or 46 % higher than last years. A lot of that increase is coming on the back of soaring mobile ad sales. An analyst with Cantor Fitzgerald estimates mobile ad sales will be reported at around $ 2. 5 billion dollars this quarter. Facebook's advertising outlets also include Instagram and of course it's non mobile web site.

Which added autoplay ads this year. Those autoplay ads can rake in as much as one million dollars for Facebook. Another item folks are going to be looking at is engagement, or how many active users there are. Last quarter the site's engagement came in at about 64 %, so a higher percent than that this quarter will be a positive sign. A lower percent, though, there might be some trouble. A final thing to keep an eye out for will be any hints to Facebook's plans in 2015. However much money the social media giant allocates for research and development will be a good indicator of just how much it's looking to invest in new technology such as virtual reality.

Facebook's earning call goes out at two pm Pacific time and can be listened to online.
