[ SOUND ] But they're happening now. Tunisians are rising in protest against the government they put in place to carry out the revolution's goals. Government [ INAUDIBLE ] Traumatized, I'm traumatized. We've never saw these kind of things under Brogabar, nor under Vinali, even under the French. [ SOUND ] The protest. Started Wednesday, triggered by this video. In it, former Minister of Interior Farhad Raji says plans are afoot for a military coup if Islamist parties win in the country's July elections. [ FOREIGN ] His message confirmed a suspicion that has been held by many here since their revolution. That Ben Ali's sympathisers former members of his now suspended RCD party still exists in Tunisia's power structure. The fear is that they are now researching their influence behind the scenes. It brought rage back onto the streets. We have to cleanse our country of the former RCD members. We're sick of these people. We want to be in peace. They should get the hell out of here. [ NOISE ] That Ben Ali the man, left the country. But Ben Ali the regime lives on. [ NOISE ] With the renewed protest. And police crack downs, comes a return of state practices Tunsians thought were in the past. Internet censorship and police beatings of journalists. [ FOREIGN ] [ FOREIGN ] First he tried to grab my phone from me and my camera, he hit me on the head. I have 5 stitches on my head. Saken, you put two, one like this. Radio journalist Radawa Makik says police beat and bruised her with batons while she covered recent events. Some 14 journalists say they were subject to police beatings during these protests. [ FOREIGN ] This kind of event confirms to me that we don't yet have our freedom of the press and of expression. Key values that where supposedly won in January's revolution are fading now. [ FOREIGN ] [ CROSSTALK ]. People in Tunisia claim a counter revolution is underway from within the government itself. [ SOUND ] The government declined comment for this story, but in a nationally televised interview Sunday night, Prime Minister Bagge Kite [ INAUDIBLE ] denied a counter revolution is happening. [ SOUND ] He also called former Interior Minister [ INAUDIBLE ] [ INAUDIBLE ] a liar and said the beating of reporters was a police. Mistake, something journalist Rekik finds hard to believe. [ FOREIGN ] 14 Journalists were attacked, not just one. They could say they took me for a citizen but there were 14 of us and each of us said we were journalists. The optimism and euphoria of January's revoluation have given way to a distinct sense of paranoia and dread in Tunisia. People here say the revolution continues and its goals are not yet fully achieved. All they can do for the moment they say is continue the fight. [ FOREIGN ] We aren't here for bread or for higher salaries. We simply want our dignity. We must never, never, never let go.
