## Transcript

We are the party on the side of working people. [ APPLAUSE ] And that we stand for three simple things. First, we're gonna increase people's pay. Second. We're gonna reduce their everyday expenses and third we're gonna provide workers the tools they need for the 21st century economy. Simply put, what do Democrats stand for? A better deal for working people. A better deal is not just our slogan. It is our mission. It's about re- orienting government to work on behalf of people and families. [ APPLAUSE ] It's not gonna be the work of only one Congress. It shouldn't be the work of only one party.

We welcome any Republicans willing to join us on these issues. There's an American Imperative and a moral imperative to do what we're doing. If that torch, held by the lady in the harbor of the city which I live, that's symbol of optimism and hope for the future start flickering it's a different America that no one will like.
