[ MUSIC ] [ BLANK_AUDIO ] You've made it through security, the boarding process is behind you, and the safety demonstration is over. Now there's just a few hours before wheels down is your next stop and if you planned ahead you've already got these five tech travel essential Essentials to keep you busy during the flight. Tech essential number one, noise- cancelling headphones, because when you're on a flight you're dealing with engine noise, the sound of the guy behind you snoring, and you know the baby is going to start crying from the cabin pressure change at any moment. If you're traveling with somebody having a headphone splitter might be a good idea, too.

Tech essential number two A computer, tablet or e- reader are some distractions already loaded. Books, articles, music, movies, podcasts, games, so many great time- sucking applications exist. You have reason to stare inconspicuously at your seat neighbor's reading material. Tech essential number three, a fully charged battery and USB battery pack. Just in case. Most electronics will last for the full length of your flight, depending on what you're doing on your device of course. But in the off chance that you're stuck on the tarmac or bad weather hold up the landing, you got to make sure your gadgets can outlast the wait.

The last thing you want if for a low battery to turn your device into a source of stress Tech essential number four, the airlines app. Pretty much every airline has one now. They let you check your arrival time, see where your plane is in relation to your final destination and some of them even let you watch TV for free during the flight. The last and probably most important tech essential is a good productivity gadget or app to help you make sure you aren't forgetting anything Anything. Traveling is stressful. Even if that traveling happens to be for vacation. But having a game plan, and being able to easily pull up all the information you need, can help put your mind at ease.
