## Transcript

In your line of work, do you find yourself basically sending the same types of emails over and over again, day in and day out? Me too, buddy, me too. There's hope, though. If you use Gmail, go to this little gear icon in the upper right hand corner, click Settings. And then, along these tabs, you're gonna click, Labs. And then you're gonna look for the Lab called Canned Responses, and enable that. Now, I'm not good at responding to people in a timely fashion, so I'm gonna create this email that basically blames someone named Esmeralda in HR, and saying it's gonna take me a couple days, but I'll get back to them.

Once I've got it all typed out, I'm gonna click this little arrow down in the lower right- hand corner of my email message, go to Canned Responses, then under Save, I'm gonna choose New Canned Response. And I'm gonna call it Sorry. Now, the next time someone emails me about something, I'm gonna reply. Down in the lower right hand corner, this arrow, I'm gonna choose Canned Responses. Then under Insert, I'm gonna choose Sorry. There's my canned response, no typing. Now, I just bought myself a couple days for each of the hundred emails I haven't responded to, blaming it on someone named Esmeralda who doesn't even exist.

But isn't there a little bit of Esmeralda in all of us? A scared little girl moving to the city, no friends. All alone with Netflix and her cat. Yup. Sounds about right.
