I see 200, 000 people occupy the road. From Admiralty to Causeway Bay I've really been impressed [ INAUDIBLE ] and truly I will never forget. We did not believe we could change the system just through one action. It highlights the [ INAUDIBLE ] divisions within our society. Marching, it was almost a watershed. [ MUSIC ] What is universal suffrage? It's more than one person, one vote. It has to have one person, one vote But, in the process, the voters must have genuine choice. This is not, this is not a call of revolution. I think democracy is important, that it's not just about Exercising your right to vote every four years is about the right to participate in the government's process. [ FOREIGN ] Initially they were seen by many as young heroes. But their support continued to dwindle because they were causing too much dislocation to society. And also leading to a break down of law and order, which is highly treasured in Hong Kong. [ CROWD NOISES ]. But after a few weeks... People will say hey, enough is enough. Because it's not gonna change Beijing's mind. And people don't want it to turn violent. Hong kong people do not want a resolution. They do not want an armed uprise. [ MUSIC ] Long term goal is to fight for self- determination. The midterm [ UNKNOWN ] referendum system, and the right basic law Campaign. Is more a time of reflection and review on how to move ahead. We have to think how to continue our struggle, consolidate our support, and even we have to plan how we can get more support from the community. Though we have to convince Beijing that it would be good for Hong Kong And good for China to have democratic elections here. And so we should have meetings, and more understanding, and hopefully something building up of trust. [ MUSIC ] They have not been able to offer really constructive solutions, workable solutions To Hong Kong's fundamental social economic problems. How you fix the land shortage, how you fix the housing supply shortage, economic restructuring, upward mobility. They have been campaigning on single political issues. One thing I would like to [ UNKNOWN ] is How to change the formation to let a new generation to get into the legislative console to change the mindset. [ MUSIC ] So it will not be very dramatic. I think we will not see the tear gas again. It is more about Laying down even stronger groundwork. But the importance is that we have to continue. And we have to persist. If not, we will never reach our final destination. That is universal suffrage. Work needs not to be done just by Beijing but also buy our own government. In leading all sometimes including young people to embrace the reality and our future as part of China. [ BLANK_AUDIO ] [ FOREIGN ] But the fight goes on. And people like me, the older generation Certainly fade from the sea, and there are others who will come in. And one fine day, democracy will prevail.
