## Transcript

A head on collision in California makes headlines nationwide as ten people die in the fiery crash between a FedEx truck and a charter bus carrying high school seniors. Both of the drivers were killed along with five students and three adult chaperones on the bus. Police say the truck crossed over the median into oncoming traffic and collided head on with the bus. While nine people were initially reported dead, with one victim in critical condition, authorities confirmed the 10th death, Friday morning. Eye witnesses helpless as flames held them back. A lot of people screaming and begging for help.

With all the flames and all the smoke, it was just cover your eyes. There was no way you could get near, no. A California highway patrol spokesperson said more than 30 people were taken to the hospital with minor or moderate injuries. Many of them students from the charter bus. The Los Angeles Times reports, those students were from and LA area high school. Further causing panic for parents and school officials, no one knew who was involved because one employee told the Times the trip involved three buses. One student posted this tweet saying he was asleep when the crash happened and he had to jump out of the bus to save his life.

KXTV reports that the FedEx truck may have crossed the median to avoid hitting another car involved in the crash. FedEx released this statement Friday morning. All of us at FedEx are deeply saddened by the tragic highway accident in California. Our hearts go out to all of those involved and their families. I'm Mika Sargent.
