I love the fact that Neil is extremely patient with me. And I think we'll your clever. [ LAUGH ] Andrew Whale and Neal Allerd never thought the day would come when they would be able to exchange vows. When we were born, it was illegal to be gay. Let alone get married. Now they are set to host the first same sex wedding in Brighton, England. Andrew and Neil won an essay contest to be the first couple married here, in the Music Room of the Royal Pavilion. They've had all sorts of requests for people to come and take part. [ LAUGH ] And you don't say no. Wedding crashers. Yeah. [ LAUGH ] You never know.

[ MUSIC ] Not everyone is excited about Andrew and Neal's new legal rights. While there have been small scale protests such as this one. How controversial could it be you say that marriage is between a man and a woman. All they're saying that people, saying we hate you for saying that. Rubbish. We need [ CROSSTALK ]. Please. Hater, you're a hater. A U Gov poll shows that 57 % of the British public is in favor of same sex marriage. While civil partnerships have been possible for years. In July 2013, Parliament passed legislation paving the way for Andrew and Neil to get married. And I think it's important to make those kinds of statements, be visible.

Be proud of who you are and what you are. In a world which seems to be stepping backwards in lots of different places. You know, there are gay people struggling to form to be allowed to form relationships. Let alone be married. So you feel lucky. Yeah, absolutely yeah, yeah lucky, privileged, yeah, I feel good. I, I do feel terribly privileged to be well, to be able to get married here. But to be able in, in, in this day and, and age to be stepping forward.
