## Transcript

[ MUSIC ] We all know that more experienced workers have a lot to teach younger people. But is there anything that Millennials can teach older workers? Employers want to know that you're savvy with social media and what Millennials can teach you is ways to really manage your career By positioning yourself on Facebook as an expert in your area. Having a Facebook page that reflects who you are, who your brand is so to speak. It's important to stay current on all these platforms because one thing that employers worry about with an older worker is they're not up to speed with technology. So talk and ask someone to help you launch these things and so you're comfortable with that social media strategy.

Are there specific ways that you can use Twitter to help enhance your career? See, I think Twitter is a great way to enhance your career because you can find experts in your field and you can start to follow them. You can Rub their back by using their handle and tweeting back. And so you sorta start to begin to build your reputation online as you add people who follow your content. But you retweeting other people's content, it becomes this really nice professional dance in a way that you become respected as a professional, while you are also being able to see what are the real pros in your field, what are they reading, what are they tweeting And I think that's intriguing, it also can help you find job opportunities.

I find that if you're following a company, you see what things are happening in your industry and what openings might be available there. There's all kinds of ways that Twitter can allow you to sort of be an observer in the work world and also be a participant so that you're honing your identity and your brand, but you can also be Educating yourself in the background.
