## Transcript

Research In Motion, creators of the venerable BlackBerry smartphone, teamed with AT & T recently to announce the new BlackBerry Torch. You could scour the entire internet looking for information, or I could just give you the basics right here. Shall we? On the hardware front, we have a 3. 2- inch touch screen with a 480x360 resolution, slide- out QWERTY keyboard, optical trackpad, and a 5- megapixel camera with auto- focus flash and video capture. As for our software, we've got the new BlackBerry 6 Operating System, which includes a full HTML web browser, which is based on the WebKit standard with tabbed browsing.

There's also a web video search feature that pulls in videos from various video- sharing sites. Social Feeds, which is a social networking app that pulls in updates from Twitter and Facebook, plus RSS feeds, all into one pipe. And Universal Search scours the phone web and the app store for anything you may search for. There's also a new music and video players with Album Art and a feature called WiFi Music Sync, which automatically synchronizes with iTunes and Windows Media Player over your home network. And of course, it wouldn't be a BlackBerry if it didn't handle messaging and e- mail well, so expect those features to be in full effect for BlackBerry 6.

Now, if you like the looks of BlackBerry 6, but you don't necessarily want to step up to the BlackBerry Torch, Research In Motion did announce that the BlackBerry 6 Operating System will be available and compatible with the Bold 9700, the Bold 9650, and the new Pearl 3G. Although, they didn't give an exact timeline for the rollup. And while the new form factor and operating system look very nice, a couple of things to keep in mind-- the 3. 2- inch touch screen is relatively low resolution, and it's pretty small. And the video camera only captures video at 640x480. That's not even wide screen. It's definitely not high- definition.

Stocks of BlackBerry Torch coming to AT & T Thursday, August 12th. $ 200 with a two- year contract. If you can get past the smaller screen and the fact that it doesn't shoot HD video, that doesn't matter to you, definitely worth checking out.
