## Transcript

>> I'm Rebecca Keegan for TIME Magazine and I am talking today with Ashton Kutcher who's new movie " Spread" opens August 14. Ashton is taking questions from TIME readers. Roberta Teer in Commack, New York asks: Does Twitter give us too much insight into a person?

>> It depends on the person. I mean, if you're-- if you're tweeting away all day long about, you know, the mundane things that are going on your day, which is what-- what it was invented for--

>> Uh huh.

>> Yes. 90 percent of what I post on Twitter is not about me at all and the stuff that I do share the things like when my dog gets skunked that I actually-- It's like-- That's like an event for me, right? Like, oh my god, my got skunk. I'm sure people can relate to it and I actually just needed to know what to use to get the skunk smell off of your dog. And I could probably kind of Google it, but that'll be more fun to share with people because I'm sure there's more than one solution and there are many.

>> This question comes from Jasmine Pal in London who asks: If you were not acting, which profession would you have gone into?

>> Before I moved away from Iowa studying biochemical engineering, my goal was to be a genetic engineer and so, you know, I thought about doing that. I thought that might be a fun thing to do for a living.

>> Here's the question from Julie Jones in Iowa City in Iowa who asks: Is there anything you miss about living in the Midwest?

>> You know, the biggest thing I miss in Iowa is my Mom. She still lives there as I don't get to see her as often. I'd like-- I miss how quiet it is. I miss like, you know, I will sit out literally in the middle of nowhere and had been really, really quiet. I miss having neighbors that I know and then I like--

>> I have a few questions about the movie " Spread ." First one comes from Tara Matthews in Boardman, Ohio who asks: In Spread, there was a scene where you talk about getting bonus points for preparing a meal for your girlfriend. Is there anything you do for your wife just for points?

>> There's definitely times where I'm like, " All right, my body is my Fantasy Football League. I went and do this thing. If I go to this, you know, girly dinner thing whatever like maybe it'd be more likely that she would be totally cool with the football thing. I've learned that the minute you stop working on the relationship, it stops working for you ."

>> Uh huh.

>> So, you know, I don't subscribe to his modus operandi.

>> Another Spread- related question comes from a reader in Brazil who asks: Doesn't a kind of jealous your eyes when you and your wife have to do love scenes with someone else as you do so often in Spread?

>> You know, I can't say it like I love watching a movie where Demi is, you know, kissing another guy so I'm probably more uncomfortable with it than she is. She seems to-- You know, she has been in this business longer so, you know, as you see it in time, you just sort of go. That's what we do and you're looking for, you know, emotional honesty in the scene 'cause I'm really rooting for her to do well and for her movie to do well and so I think that she looks at my movies no matter what it is that I'm portraying. She is looking to, you know, root for me to be emotionally honest and for the movie to be good.

>> Chris Perez in San Antonio, Texas asks: Does it bother you to be called Mr. Demi Moore?

>> No.

>> Can you elaborate why it doesn't?

>> No, I wouldn't. People call me much worse. I probably get called a moron, an asshole, a douchebag, a tool-- face, that horrible actor, you know, a talentless wash up, feels having my 15 seconds of fame are over. Probably 2 to 300 times a day. I'm proud to be Mr. Demi Moore.
