[ MUSIC ] It's always great to have neighbors cu you can go borrow a cup of sugar except instead of a cup it might be 50 pounds. [ MUSIC ] We are Sitting in what's referred to as the Pfizer building. It's an old building that Pfizer used to have as a factory, and about four years ago it was converted into office space for small businesses, many of which are in the food industry and based in Brooklyn. So the vision was to take this 800, 000 square foot building and turn it into a hub of entrepreneurial food activity. The name of our company is Madecasse. We do chocolate and vanilla from Madagascar.

other people have helped us a lot and we've to return that favour other companies in the business. So very collaborative some of these are just for knowledge, sometimes there is actually a sales relationship with another company here. I hope the market has started buying form a lot of these small company It's a really full space because they're all sharing resources. And we found it to be a really great relationship because, they're on one place and they're doing a good job tp fulfil each other. [ MUSIC ] The shear number of businesses that have moved in and then started to grow and and called [ UNKNOWN ], and [ UNKNOWN ] is impressive.

There's a ton of frozen production. There is pasta making and kimchi production. So, there are really varied businesses that are operating out of there now. What's great about the pace is, what normally takes about two to three hours to do at home, now you can do in under 10 minutes. Yeah, it's amazing. So, I've been in here for about three years now and within that time, business is probably at least tripled and part of it's directly from opportunities from being in the buildings. So definitely grateful for that. [ MUSIC ] I was so amazed to have been working with [ UNKNOWN ] in the restaurant so when they moved to the Fizer building And started production out of there.

I couldn't believe that they'd built two wood fire ovens that have chimneys that go through four stories to get to the rood so that they can produce the same way that they do in their restaurant. In this location we make Roberta's frozen pizza, which is sold all over the northeast region and we ship it nationally. It's all made by Hand, and they're made in wood- fired ovens that are identical to the ovens at Roberta's. A lot of these restaurant chefs, or food brands, that are highly, highly innovative and creative are being allowed to flourish in this building, and do some really unique things I would not have expected.

[ MUSIC ] Right now sitting at Whole Foods Market, Williamsburg, which is the most recent store that we've opened and within a mile or two of the Pfizer building. It's been really fun to see how many of those vendors and producers are on the shelf in this store. We knew that we really had to hit it home with Local because they're such an importance placed on it by a customer base here that we've brought on even more producers from the building just because it's so close.
