Toddler proofing, it's the reason you can't use your own toilet without solving a series of complex puzzles. The same goes for your iPad, although it's not that complex. Head over to time. com. And check out our guide for how to toddler proof your iPhone or iPad. Here are a few of the tips. Unless we're talking about a streaming video app, there's really no reason why your toddler needs Wi- Fi access. You will not have this conversation. Hey dad i found this site called Wikipedia. And I was reading about Mount Rushmore. My, what a, what a feat of human ingenuity that was. That, that is never gonna happen.

Your toddler does not need WI- Fi access. In order to turn it off, head into Settings. Tap Wi- Fi. And hit the slider. That's it. Nothing good happens if a toddler can access the Internet unchecked. Trust me. I don't have a toddler, but I do have the Internet. It can get pretty rough. Disable Control Center. By swiping up from the bottom of the screen, you have access to a bunch of granular controls. You just turned Wi- Fi off. You don't want your toddler popping it back on. Now, if you're on the home screen, you can't disable this. But you can disable it within apps. To do that, go into Settings > Control Center.

And then hit the sliders for Access on the Lock Screen. They access within apps. Multitasking Gestures is an iPad specific feature. But it's very frustrating for a kid. You may not know this. If you use four fingers on the screen, swipe back and forth. You can pop between apps left and right. You can swipe up to multi- task. You can pinch the pop back out to the Home screen. But now, you do know this. Your toddler does not know that though. So turn off Multitasking Gestures to avoid frustration. Head into Settings, then General. And flip Multitasking Gestures off. Your toddler's definitely going to use multiple fingers on the screen.

They don't know. They don't, they don't, they don't know that's not something normal people do. That, you know, boring people like us that are washed up and have had our dreams crushed by the time we're in our 30s. You just use one finger to poke everything. No, they're kids. They want to, you know, they want to live. Enabling Restrictions. This is actually probably our most important tip. Head into Settings, then General. Then, Enable Restrictions. And you got a whole slew of things you can turn on and off. You're gonna need to set a pass code too, so your toddler can't just go back in and start turning everything back on.

If your toddler can figure out how to get back in there though, good for you. You're, you're looking at like, some sort of special school where they're getting a scholarship and stuff like that. Proud of ya. And this probably doesn't need to be said, but get the most ridiculous case you can for your iPhone or iPad. Like a rugged, ridiculous. The more ridiculous the better. This case from Otterbox, this is ridiculous. My wife works at a school, this is the case they give the kids. If it, if the iPad could breathe I would be saying, can, can you breathe in there? Are you okay? Can you breathe? But it's rugged.

It's for school. It's made for school kids. Your toddler better than a school kid, already? Again, special school. Congratulations. We're looking at scholarships. Those are just a handful of the tips. Head on over to time. com. And search for eight ways to toddler- proof your iPhone or iPad for more. [ MUSIC ].
