## Transcript

>> Hello! Steven!

>> Hi I'm Allie!

>> We're here because Peter and Lev, no one else is here.

>> They left.

>> They're all busy and, you know, in San Francisco, it snowed here this morning but they're in San Francisco. We're here to talk about everything. Mostly the iPad.

>> The iPad.

>> So here's the deal, we've taken over the TechLand show because apparently everyone else needed in this world and things that the i-- you hold down and makes you go forward, forward.

>> Really?

>> There you go! Look at that! It's amazing.

>> Steven you're a genius.

>> It's amazing.

>> Look I can hop--

>> You'll die soon enough.

>> No. I am gonna rule.

>> So everyone else is jaded and doesn't like the iPad and that's because they're all just sort of too cool for school.

>> Yeah! I just said that, yes. But we are the two people who actually sort of like it.

>> Yeah! No. I mean.

>> Should we talk about what it is first?

>> So, the iPad is the new big tablet from Apple revealed Wednesday, so two days ago. It's cool actually.

>> I'll play while you talk.

>> Yeah. The people are a little underwhelmed.

>> Why are most people underwhelmed? They're saying like, what would you use this for?

>> Yeah! I think-- I think people are just like oh it's just a big iPad Touch which it is. Really it is.

>> And they say that like it's a bad thing.

>> And that is the thing. I don't really necessarily think that's a terrible thing. I think that people can get a lot of use out of it.

>> Everyone who rips on it is ripping on it that there's no way this could be a primary device.

>> Right.

>> Which I don't understand in itself why that's such a negative, if you just had this really cool second, secondary thing that's portable and you can take around.

>> Exactly.

>> So that's how I refute their argument. I would also rebuff that argument by saying that there are a whole lot of people out there who aren't techies who don't need very advanced primary computing devices. They come home from work, they're not doing much and here is a $ 400, $ 500 laptop replacement and you're good to go.

>> Exactly.

>> So I don't understand why everyone's so negative about it.

>> And also same stuff with your iPhone or iPad Touch, or even your regular iPad.

>> All the apps.

>> I mean you've got, yeah you got all your apps, all your music right there. My biggest thing is I think it's going to be amazing for education.

>> Education? College?

>> Yeah. If I was still a college student, I would want this thing for sure.

>> Very cool.

>> All of your books, all of your notes, all of the PDFs from your professor.

>> You just carry it around and it's 10- hour battery life.

>> Exactly, in one place.

>> Take it all the day.

>> And that's and entire day.

>> Well you're watching this right now, the comments are down there. You can tell us why we're idiots.

>> Yeah.

>> Okay. So what's with this Billy Ray Cyrus comic you wrote about yesterday?

>> So, basically you know, If there's-- if it's with you, I died already, wow. -[ unk ]

>> So basically Lady Gaga is coming out with a new comic book.

>> Oh! I'm not familiar. Who is that?

>> Yeah. The coolest part is that there's a whole list of stupid celebrity comics that have existed. I mean, on them is Mother Teresa.

>> Tell me Mother Teresa's battling zombies.

>> No.

>> That's what I want.

>> Yeah. I wish. That would be amazing. We should probably market that now.

>> Mother Teresa versus the undead, and Jesus is a zombie. That would blow your mind? I think I just blew mine.

>> So Billy Ray Cyrus has his own comic. Bob Hope has his own comic.

>> Of course he does. So you break it all down, right? They can go with the club?

>> Yeah. I mean people-- people can go to the post and look at it. It's

>> Where do they go to? Comics? Where's the file number?

>> Yeah, I think it's in our comic section, culture, comics.

>> Comics. Check out the Mother Teresa comic.

>> Timmy, hurry up.

>> This is live. I just got it. There's the multi camera shot. This is like a whole thing. This is like a whole interactive game and stuff, but I'm just telling you here people you might not have heard much about this, this is the new Planet Earth. You're going to hear tons about it, 11- part Discovery Channel series where it follows sort of the ecosystem, you know, the world through the eyes of specific species of plant life, animals. Okay. So that's number one. Number two, because we wanna bring you guys more content, Caprica. They had the pilot last weekend.

>> Right.

>> Tonight is episode two I guess, technically, although for most people it's like episode one because--

>> Yeah.

>> Those other things have been around forever. We put up an interview with the executive producer last night, where he talks about sort of where we're headed in the episodic nature of things. Anyway, and also just for the hell of it, for those of you who actually watched the show, who got to the end, we got this in the mail a couple of weeks ago, Lost Season Five which you've probably seen.

>> Cool!

>> But it's a crazy box set. There's like a VHS tape, a map, sorts of spells up the chronology. I mean this is actually a pretty cool little pack and I'll tell you what, first person to post a comment at the bottom gets the Lost box set. Thanks for being a loyal viewer and a loyal co- host.

>> So can I comment?

>> No! Nor can any of your family members.

>> Fine.
