## Transcript

As populations become more concentrated, there's a lot of things that you can do within those concentrated populations, but at some point, people are gonna have to go somewhere else. The point about urban environments, is, on, on the advantage side, is that, the concentration of, of, of utilization of energy because of the concentration of people, gives you a chance to deal with emissions, in a, in a more rational way, because the, the, the enemy of, of, of dealing with emissions is, dilution and dispersion, right? So if you can deal with them in a, more concentrated fashion, that becomes a more attractive scope.

The second, the second thing's water. I mean if you, if you, you, you can start to implement or think about zero discharge water systems for cities, and, and and that's gonna take energy, but it also gonna, going to allow you to manage your water situation a little better, right. I, I was noticing in the utilities here that a lot of water is recycled water. And that's, no, we managed to do zero, zero discharge chemical complexes where there's no water utilized, the water's completely reused at all times. The question you and I talked about, Stephanie, is, is there's still another thing. I mean, you may have all these urban environments that are very cozy in their cocoons and working efficiently with energy and so on, but still there's gonna be the need to co, to co, communicate between those two environments, right?

There's still gonna be air travel, there's still gonna be freight, there's still gonna be transportation between those points, which may even be more distant now, because they're concentrated, correct? So there is, there is a, the the dilemma of how do you provide energy to those systems, you know, airplanes, long- distance ships and, and things like that, how do, how do you deal with that? It's difficult to think about an electric airplane, that, that is not something that is, as you say, we haven't wrapped our minds around that one. So, so maybe that is, that, that is part of this diversity I was talking about.

You're gonna just to have to concentrate more of the, the energy resources that produce really concentrated and en, energy product, like oil, into things like fueling airplanes, where you can replace oil into electric cars, in urban environments. So, the, the, the idea of the self- contained, completely isolated system, is always missing the the interconnection, and that, that would be my, my plea when you consider urban environment and energy systems in urban environment and what does, what does that do to the urban environment? Consider the interaction between urban environments as well, as a, as a, as a very important part of the part of the equation.
