## Transcript

We are taking a quick first look at the Logitech Revue, R- E- V- U- E, with Google TV. It's a $ 300 set- top box that includes a wireless keyboard, that's got an integrated mouse pad and doubles as a universal remote that controls your existing cable box-- in my case, a TiVo-- and your TV, as well as the Logitech Revue. So, one of the advantages of Google TV, in general, is the ease at which it fits in to your current setup. So, my wife, for instance-- who couldn't give a candy corn about Google TV-- can still control our entire setup with the standard TiVo remote. So, our old system is in place no matter what, and Google TV is just a layer on top of it.

And one of the ways that Google TV enhances watching TV, if I'm watching a football game here, I can put the Picture in Picture on and check my Pick'em stats or my Fantasy stats. I can record this on my TiVo like normal, or I can bookmark this channel into my Bookmarks, and there's one of my favorite channels that I just bookmarked. And the TV will switch over to that channel. As for specific shows, you can see I've searched for Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. It shows me that it's on right now on USA channel. So, I can switch to it if I like. I can look on the web-- this is their official website.

And I can look through the Google TV specific sites for the series of Law & Order. And then, if I want to buy an episode for instance, I can either watch it on NBC, it will be on USA on Tuesday, or I can buy it through Amazon. com. So, how do I feel about Google TV, honestly? Bullish. It's the future of TV. It sits in between the old way and the new way. And then, when the new way a la carte becomes mainstream, you can just remove the old way from the equation, your cable box. I think it's too expensive at 300 bucks. If Logitech could get rid of this fancy keyboard and put up this box at $ 200 with the, you know, an iPhone remote or a very simple remote, I think it would sell much better.

But we're in the early stages now. And I say this dependably, this is the future. Not the future? The future. Trust me. I'm a technology writer. And I make videos. Video TV. I mean, let's connect the dots here. Look through the looking glass.
