None of the dogs are running for president, and absolutely nothing serious hinged on its outcome. But let's face it. There are a lot of people who like looking at dogs, and Westminster has the most extraordinary collection of the most extraordinary- looking dogs in the world. We went behind the scenes at this year's show to see how pampered these champions really are. From salon quality defrizzers and organic shampoos, to curling irons and hair straighteners, these dogs use more products than most high- maintenance women. >> It's actually done in two sections. You have the first section that you bring up here, and you tease it. Your rubber band goes in it, and then the back section is brought up together. Then you fold it over, and put your rubber band in. >> We have mink oil that glosses his coat with. We have vitamin E that we use on his nose. We have chalk to make his whites whiter. >> And you'd never use everyday names like Spot, Fido or Max for these well- coiffed pooches, at least not in front of the other titleholders. >> This is Genie. She's Champion Cocoas N' Nobu's Island Magic. >> Champion Mordecai's Call Me Handsome. >> Registered name is Champion Ecko Ridges American Justice V Von Wilhelm's. >> His registered name is Champion Impyrial's Love American Style. >> This is my American National- International Best in Show Champion Sparkling Blue Dreams of Glory. Her name-- her call name is Glory for short. >> If you thought Paris Hilton had the biggest entourage in show business, you've obviously never met one of these superstars. Many of these dogs travel with handlers, hairstylists, and of course, their owners. >> That's Jessy Sutton, and he is Rudy's professional dog handler. >> She is owned by Karen Nobumoto, shown by myself. I'm Stephanie Kaul. >> Even their food is nothing to be barked at. Many dogs eat home- made meals. This woman, who owns more than 10 show dogs, slow- cooks well- balanced chicken and veggie dinners for her tough guy. And of course, these dogs would never sleep on a cold, hard floor. They need beauty rest. >> Where does this dog sleep at night? >> This dog loves to sleep with her head on our pillow. She likes her head on the pillow, and the rest of her under the covers just like the humans because, after all, it becomes her bed after a while, you know. >> But here at Westminster, where dogs are raised champions from the day they're born, all the dedication can pay off with a shiny blue ribbon and a really big win. >> It was the group win in Herding Group. She won Best of Breed. She showed her heart out, and she was placed first out of all the Best Breed winners in the Herding Group, so she gets to go on to Best in Show tonight. >> Oh, congratulations. >> You're really strutting your stuff out there in the crowd. >> She was. -[ unk ]. >> And this man's a Great Dane. Champion DTVS The Operator, otherwise known as Toby, is even famous outside of the ring. He recently starred in a music video with pop singer Nelly Furtado. But underneath all the powder and the teased hair, these dogs just want to be dogs.
