[ MUSIC ] Every year Time pics the 25 best inventions of the year. Here are five of our favorites The transparent truck. The worst part about being stuck behind a giant tractor trailer on the highway is not seeing what's in front of it. What if there's some emergency situation up ahead? Enter Samsung's smart truck. It's one of those It's one of those ideas that seems obvious the second you see it. Samsung put a camera on the front of the truck, and turned the back into a giant display. It makes sense, and it could save lives if widely adopted. Microsoft Hololens isn't virtual reality. It's augmented reality.

[ MUSIC ] That means it projects holograms into the wearer's physical space, instead of transporting them to a new space entirely. And where VR is aimed mostly at gamers for now, AR could have big implications across a range of industries from medicine to education [ MUSIC ] The ocean vacuum. There's a patch of plastic trash in the middle of the Pacific Ocean that's bigger than Texas and growing. But the default removal process of scooping it up with nets is both costly and time consuming. Instead, the Ocean Cleanup Project suggests we tap natural currents to trap waste using a 62 mile long floating boom.

Estimates suggest it could reduce Pacific trash by 42 % over ten years. The airport for drones. As more and more companies consider using drones for commercial delivery, those drones will need a place to refuel and restock. The map place could look a lot like this drone airport Slated to be built in Rwanda. The country whose hills and impassable roads make car and truck deliveries all but impossible. The self balancing scooter. And last, but definitely not least, what is probably 2015's most viral product. This is a, this is a Funky Dunk. A motorized scooter, sort of like a Segway. That offers a hoverboard- like riding experience.
