But what happens when spoilers carry a financial incentive? _Survivor_, a low-stakes reality competition, has generated tens of millions of dollars in trading volume on [Kalshi](https://kalshi.com/) this year. It's not entirely a testament to the show's roaring popularity, but rather a prime example of a growing concern: a handful of traders are leveraging nonpublic information to win money on prediction-market platforms. In nine of the first ten episodes of [_Survivor 50_](https://www.cbs.com/shows/survivor/), Kalshi's markets accurately priced the eliminated contestant as the overwhelming favorite to be sent home nearly a week before the episode aired. Since _Survivor_ is [taped months in advance](https://www.cbssurvivorcasting.com/faq), hundreds of cast and crew members are privy to the show's week-to-week outcomes—and one trip down the Reddit rabbit hole could suggest that information isn't staying on the island. ## What Happens in Fiji Doesn't Stay in Fiji The 50th season of _Survivor_ premiered on February 25 to enormous fanfare, and while roughly [six-million viewers](https://deadline.com/2026/02/survivor-50-cbs-ratings-1236739119/) celebrated the milestone of one of television's longest-running franchises, a [market](https://kalshi.com/markets/kxsurvivorelimination/who-will-be-eliminated-from-survivor/kxsurvivorelimination-26mar05) titled "Which participants will be eliminated from Survivor Season 50 Episode 2?" opened up on Kalshi. On February 26, six days before the second episode aired, Kalshi's market gave Savannah Louie a 96% chance to be the next cast member eliminated. By early morning on the scheduled airdate, her contract—each cent representing a one-percent implied probability—traded at 99 cents. The market had amassed roughly $551,000 in volume. Louie was, indeed, voted off the island that episode, and what followed was even more telling: five straight weeks in which the eventual boot was trading above 95 cents at least five days before the episode aired. Not only was the public trading with accurate, bullish conviction, but they were doing so almost as soon as the market opened. In a break from typical _Survivor_ fashion, the fifth episode featured two Tribal Councils. Kalshi's traders kept pace: both Charlie Davis and Angelina Keeley were trading north of 95 cents, signaling that entire episode arcs—not just a single name at Tribal—were being leaked in advance. Enter [r/SpoiledSurvivor](https://www.reddit.com/r/SpoiledSurvivor/)—a subreddit dedicated to "posting and analyzing _Survivor_ spoilers." The community's long-standing contributors do not appear financially motivated. The subreddit has been around for a decade, long before there was a public means to trade on the show, and its users have [spent years](https://www.reddit.com/r/SpoiledSurvivor/comments/ct9ea5/40boot%5Fcomplete%5Fbootlist/) speculating and leaking possible "bootlists" for the love of the game. They groan when new [accounts claim](https://www.reddit.com/r/SpoiledSurvivor/comments/1q9spuw/50boot%5Fsurvivor%5F50%5Fofficial%5Fbootlist/) to "know someone who works at CBS" and cross-check every rumor against episode trailers, social media activity, and years of accumulated community lore. Today, the subreddit attracts 65,000 weekly visitors. There is reason to believe the forum is now being used for more than pure _Survivor_ analysis. Shortly before the 50th season premiered, an anonymous r/SpoiledSurvivor poster shared a [pre-merge elimination list](https://www.reddit.com/r/SpoiledSurvivor/comments/1r6r6zp/50speculation%5Fthe%5Fok%5Fline%5Fconfirmed%5Fthe%5Fpremerge/) that would later prove exact: who the first ten castaways would be, and in what order they'd be voted out. The thread generated 137 comments and 97 upvotes. That same poster has since been cited on an [updated elimination list](https://www.reddit.com/r/SpoiledSurvivor/comments/1sokrxa/50speculation%5Fnew%5Fbootlist%5Ffrom%5Fsurvivor%5Fsucks/) that, so far, has been accurate in two straight episodes. The updated thread has garnered 393 comments and 125 upvotes. Its forecast for this week's episode points in the same direction as Kalshi's current market consensus. ## Who Will Be Eliminated From Survivor This Week? This week's [_Survivor_ elimination market](https://kalshi.com/markets/kxsurvivorelimination/who-will-be-eliminated-from-survivor/kxsurvivorelimination-26may08), which has already drawn more than $180,000 in trading volume, is pricing in a double exit: Cirie Fields and Rick Devens are each currently trading above 80 cents, matching the outcome forecast in the Reddit thread.  Market prices should not be treated as the truth. Nothing is final until Jeff Probst snuffs a torch and laments, "the tribe has spoken." But since the second episode of this season, each eliminated contestant has traded above 85 cents on Kalshi in the day or days leading up to their exit—a pattern that suggests trading activity has moved beyond pure public opinion. [Black Widow Brigade](https://survivor.fandom.com/wiki/Black%5FWidow%5FBrigade)\-level [blindsides](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDXvqrb%5Fml0&t=10s) won't pack the same punch if the market has already spoiled who goes home. The r/SpoiledSurvivor subreddit is just one possible example of how purported leaks can seep into a federally-regulated marketplace. Unlike live events, pre-taped television shows have a fully determined outcome by the time a relevant market opens. In turn, some traders may not be trying to predict the future so much as identify who already knows the past. It takes the question "[Who Will Win Survivor Season 50?](https://kalshi.com/markets/kxsurvivor/who-will-win-survivor/kxsurvivor-26dec31)" and threatens to drain it of suspense: Aubry Bracco was trading as high as 84 cents a month before the season began, and she currently maintains an 87% chance to win. That Kalshi win market has amassed more than $22 million in trading volume, making it one of the largest non-sports offerings on the platform. Kalshi, for its part, has pushed back on the idea that _Survivor 50_ has been cracked by insiders.
