That is the sicko charm of the annual [Pro Football Hall of Fame Game](https://www.nfl.com/schedules/2026/by-week/hall-of-fame-game): the stars do not play, the result does not matter, but after six months without a snap, even meaningless football will move the chains. Tomorrow night's preseason opener is the teaser. The 2026 NFL season kicks off on September 9 with a Super Bowl LX rematch between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots. Here's where the Super Bowl market stands entering the preseason. ## Super Bowl Odds Below are the [2027 Super Bowl odds](https://kalshi.com/markets/kxsb/super-bowl/kxsb-27), per Kalshi.  The Los Angeles Rams were already the favorite to win the Super Bowl. Then they [traded Jared Verse and three draft picks](https://www.nfl.com/news/myles-garrett-trade-winners-and-losers-rams-super-bowl-ready-what-can-jared-verse-do-with-browns) to the Cleveland Browns for [Myles Garrett](https://time.com/collection/time100-sports/2026/myles-garrett/), and their implied championship probability on Kalshi climbed from 10% to 16%. Sportsbooks agree with the market's verdict: [FanDuel lists the Rams at +550 odds](https://sportsbook.fanduel.com/navigation/nfl?tab=super-bowl), implying a 15.4% probability. It's rare for a team to create this much distance from the pack before Week 1\. [Four teams](https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2025/preseason%5Fodds.htm) entered last season at +800 or shorter. This year, the Rams are the only club priced shorter than +1100—a gap that seems justified when the roster reads like an NFL Honors seating chart. Matthew Stafford won MVP, Puka Nacua paced the league in catches, and Davante Adams led the league in receiving touchdowns last season. Together, those three helped the Rams average 34.4 points per game from Week 7 on—and made stacking Los Angeles in fantasy an expensive habit worth funding. Now the Rams add Garrett, a two-time Defensive Player of the Year and the [favorite to defend the award](https://kalshi.com/markets/kxnfldpoty/ap-pro-football-defensive-player-of-the-year/kxnfldpoty-27), to the other side of the ball. The Rams' case ultimately rests on a quarterback whose career has been rewritten in Los Angeles. Stafford played only three postseason games in 12 seasons with the Detroit Lions. In five seasons with the Rams, he's won seven playoff games and a Super Bowl. Now 38 and coming off a career-best campaign—46 touchdown passes against eight interceptions—Stafford is being priced for another deep run, even with the Rams trapped in what might be the NFL's most unforgiving division.  The [NFL's eight divisions](https://www.espn.com/nfl/standings) are always lopsided. The Super Bowl odds board reveals where the league's strength is concentrated. Right now, 11 teams have at least a 5% implied probability to win the Super Bowl. Six of them belong to just two divisions: the [NFC West](https://kalshi.com/markets/kxnflnfcwest/national-football-conference-west-winner/kxnflnfcwest-27) and the [AFC West](https://kalshi.com/markets/kxnflafcwest/american-football-conference-west-winner/kxnflafcwest-27). Teams with at least a 5% implied Super Bowl probability, by division: NFC West (3), AFC West (3), AFC East (2), AFC North (2), NFC East (1), NFC North (0), AFC South (0), NFC South (0). The imbalanced divisions have created strange playoff math. The defending champion Seattle Seahawks are tied for the second-highest Super Bowl probability on Kalshi. Yet the New Orleans Saints—24th on the championship odds board—have a [higher chance](https://kalshi.com/category/sports/football/nfl/divisions) than Seattle of winning their division and, with it, an automatic playoff berth. One is a legitimate title threat boxed in by the NFC West. The other has Spencer Rattler backing up Tyler Shough. Division titles are more than a convenient path to the Big Game: 13 of the past 14 Super Bowl champions won theirs. The lone wild card team to win a title in that span had Tom Brady under center. That helps explain why some of this year's most talented teams carry longer Super Bowl odds than their rosters alone would suggest. But futures markets show where the league's strength appears to be entering the season.
