Determining the best soccer team in Europe is simple, really. Just take 36 clubs, each qualifying for the Champions League through a different UEFA-approved route—domestic league finishes, titleholder status, summer qualifiers—and send them through a nine-month gauntlet including a league phase, playoff, and knockout round, all while forcing the masses to relearn a [coefficient system](https://www.uefa.com/nationalassociations/uefarankings/) left behind in middle-school math class.

The new [UEFA Champions League format](https://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/competition-format/) may be divisive, but it has delivered a final matchup worthy of the rigmarole: Paris Saint-Germain vs. Arsenal on Saturday, May 30 at Puskás Aréna in Budapest, Hungary.

PSG are chasing a feat only Real Madrid have achieved in the Champions League era: back-to-back titles. For Arsenal, the stakes are more ancestral: a chance to win the Cup that has eluded the club since its first entry in 1971\. Saturday will mark the first UEFA men's final between teams from France and England, one club defending a new identity, the other looking to complete an old one. What do the odds and underlying data suggest about which team will hoist the trophy, known among fans as Ol' Big Ears?

## Champions League Final Odds

Here's a look at the [2026 UEFA Champions League final odds](https://polymarket.com/event/uefa-champions-league-winner), per [Polymarket](https://polymarket.com/).

![](https://gcp-na-images.contentstack.com/v3/assets/bltea6093859af6183b/blt5af2419cece66cbb/6a19756afcb716276d4e9760/Screenshot_2026-05-29_at_6.15.20_AM.png?branch=main_v1)

PSG's attack is every bit as relentless as the [spending](https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6413101/2025/06/15/psg-transfer-fees-wages-analysis/) behind it. The Ligue 1 winners [paced the Champions League](https://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/statistics/clubs/disciplinary/?sortBy=fouls%5Fsuffered&order=desc) in goals (44), attempts on target (113), and total attempts (297) this season. PSG's chance creation stems from sustained control as much as transition burst, with the side ranking third in passing accuracy (89.3%) and second in time of possession (60.3%). [Ousmane Dembélé](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ql-2UXVhTqc), one of just ten players with a World Cup, Champions League, and Ballon d'Or win on his resume, notched seven goals and two assists through ten Champions League starts before exiting a Ligue 1 match with a [calf injury](https://www.foxsports.com/stories/soccer/psg-superstar-ousmane-dembele-limps-off-early-in-derby-clash-with-paris-fc-to-spark-champions-league-final-availability-fears) on May 17\. But like a stadium watching a VAR check break its way, the Rouge et Bleu faithful can exhale: Dembélé is "[100% ready and raring to go](https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/demb-l-100-ready-play-142619416.html)" for this Saturday's showdown.

The Parisians have a 57% implied win probability on Polymarket and a 59% implied win probability on [Kalshi](https://kalshi.com/markets/kxucl/uefa-champions-league/kxucl-26). The betting favorite has won 12 of the last 15 Champions League finals. It's an apt setup for Arsenal, a club that fits the underdog mold both statistically and spiritually. The fanbase has been [dubbed](https://www.foxsports.com/articles/soccer/arsenal-fans-named-as-most-hated-supporters-in-the-premier-league) the "most hated" in the Premier League. Head coach Mikel Arteta's sideline antics have drawn intense [scrutiny](https://www.foxsports.com/articles/soccer/arsenal-fans-named-as-most-hated-supporters-in-the-premier-league) from peers. And now, the club that sprinted through this season without dropping a single match is being faded against the very club that knocked them out of the Champions League tournament last year.

For all the underdog framing, the Gunners do not arrive without a strong statistical profile. Arsenal have been the defensive standard this season, conceding just six goals through 14 matches—the best mark in the Champions League, well clear of PSG's 22\. The cannon-crested club has blanked opponents more often than not, maintaining nine clean sheets heading into a final defined by defensive control: the last seven winners all shut out their opponents in the final. Moreover, Arsenal went 8-0 in league phase matches despite leaving goals on the pitch, scoring just 23 goals to 28.7 expected goals (xG), per [Opta Analyst](https://theanalyst.com/competition/uefa-champions-league/table). The north Londoners have been due for positive regression for some time now, a familiar theme against PSG: across two semi-final meetings in 2025, Arsenal lost 3-1 on aggregate but generated 4.54 xG to PSG's 2.90 xG.

PSG may have the sharper attack, but Arsenal bring a mix of defensive fortitude and unresolved grievance that could drag the final into a match made for the margins. The market acknowledges as much, pricing a regulation-time draw at a 28% implied probability—a reminder that even when Europe's most elaborate tournament reaches its simplest stage, the winner does not always emerge in 90 minutes.
