Friday's Daytime Emmys will test whether traders have been studying their soaps during business hours. The Daytime Emmys have heard all the jokes, often courtesy of their primetime counterparts. In an episode of _30 Rock_, Tracy Jordan, who would go on to win a "[Pacific Rim Emmy,](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrBiUnZszQM)" questioned Whoopi Goldberg's [EGOT](https://time.com/4675741/oscars-2017-almost-egot-lin-manuel-miranda/) credentials after spotting her Daytime Emmy. _The View_ host quipped, "[It still counts!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PuZG%5F97imFE)" The millions who tune in every afternoon count for something, too. _The Young and the Restless_, _The Price Is Right_, and _Judge Judy_ reruns consistently [outdraw](https://ustvdb.com/ratings/shows/) every late-night talk show, along with most other primetime programs outside sports and news. And as last year's Actor Awards [reminded](https://michaelfairmantv.com/sag-awards-2025-soap-starts-spotlight-actors-early-roles-daytime-drama/2025/02/23/) us, many of our favorite stars earned their SAG card from a daytime soap opera, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Michael B. Jordan, Julianne Moore, and Demi Moore. Heading into Friday's 53rd Daytime Emmys, traders are backing a rookie soap opera over three that have been on the air since Richard Nixon was president. They also favor a pop star turned talk-show host, whose show leads all 11 of its categories, and are putting the most money behind a courtroom missing its judge. ## Daytime Emmy Awards Roughly $400K has been traded across Kalshi's [Daytime Emmys markets](https://kalshi.com/category/culture/daytime-emmys). The category for Outstanding Legal/Courtroom Series has generated the most volume, even with its sharpest tongue missing from the field.  Judith Sheindlin, of _Judge Judy_ and _Judy Justice_ fame, has been holding court on daytime television for 30 years. A 2015 poll found that [one in 10 adults believed Judge Judy was a Supreme Court justice](https://time.com/4186653/college-grads-judge-judy-supreme-court-justice/). The _Don't Pee on My Leg and Tell Me It's Raining_ author has a [highlight reel](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypOD6Hpxyxk)'s worth of objections to that assessment—one-liners that have been recused from this year's courtroom battle. For the first time since 2012, Sheindlin, who [signed off](https://people.com/what-is-judge-judy-doing-next-12185131) from _Judy Justice_ last week, does not have a show nominated for Outstanding Legal/Courtroom Series. _Divorce Court_, which originally debuted in 1957, is favored to win its first Emmy at 25%.  _General Hospital_, _The Young and the Restless_, and _Days of our Lives_ have each been on the air since at least 1973\. Those soaps are, on average, in their 60th season. In a genre where the shows are as enduring as their supposedly dead characters, traders are backing the newcomer. _Beyond the Gates_, a CBS soap starring Tamara Tunie, has a 73% implied probability of winning Outstanding Daytime Drama Series in its first year of eligibility. [_General Hospital_](https://time.com/collections/all-time-100-tv-shows/3101667/general-hospital/) trails at 29%, despite five consecutive wins and a category record of 18 overall. [Gold Derby](https://www.goldderby.com/)'s [combined projections](https://www.goldderby.com/odds/combined-odds/daytime-emmy-awards-2026/), which pool forecasts from experts, editors, and users, also favor _Beyond the Gates_, putting its chances at 76.4%. ##  _The Kelly Clarkson Show_ [signed off](https://ew.com/kelly-clarkson-ends-the-kelly-clarkson-show-after-7-years-12073591) in late August after seven seasons and 24 Daytime Emmys. Traders are pricing in a generous retirement package. _The Kelly Clarkson Show_ is up for 11 awards on Friday. Traders favor it in every single category, including Outstanding Daytime Talk Series Host, where Clarkson has an 87% chance of winning. A clean sweep would surpass _General Hospital_'s record 10-award haul in 2012\. If the odds are any guide, Daytime Emmy voters love Clarkson's "[Kellyoke](https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLxLsLcpMLqyRIt6qLXvXIpfYCHxU2wmNQ)" segment just as much as the [internet](https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/tv/articles/kelly-clarkson-final-kellyoke-performance-180531381.html) does.
