As summer festival season nears its outro, the music industry turns to its annual ritual: ranking star power by font size. Justin Bieber, Sabrina Carpenter, and Karol G won music's typography battle at Coachella 2026\. Bieber spent nearly half an hour of his 90-minute set at a MacBook, pulling up [old music videos on YouTube](https://variety.com/2026/music/news/justin-bieber-coachella-set-swag-youtube-videos-1236719705/) and occasionally singing along with his younger self. It was the world's most expensive karaoke night—weekend passes ran about [$650](https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/music/story/2026-04-22/people-tell-us-how-much-they-spent-on-coachella-2026)—dressed as a career retrospective, but it worked. Fans erupted when he finally matched his teenage self in a higher register during "[Beauty and a Beat](https://www.forbes.com/sites/hannahabraham/2026/04/16/justin-biebers-coachella-set-sent-a-14-year-old-song-back-to-the-top-of-the-charts/)," a moment that gave [TikTok](https://www.tiktok.com/@cliprandom385/video/7628459768734436629) a new way to dramatize the leap from unbothered to invested. And though Bieber's minimalist set had its [detractors](https://www.today.com/popculture/music/justin-bieber-coachella-performance-reactions-rcna331603), the crowd's willingness to follow him down the YouTube rabbit hole proved there are many ways to headline Coachella—and very few artists with enough pull to make almost anything work. With Coachella's 2027 lineup potentially dropping in the coming weeks, prediction markets are setting odds on who belongs on that short list. ## **Coachella Headliner Odds** Here's a look at the [odds for who will headline Coachella 2027](https://kalshi.com/markets/kxroleateventcoachella/who-will-headline-coachella/kxroleateventcoachella-27dec31), per Kalshi.  In the past, Coachella waited until January to release its lineup. Then the [economics](https://www.billboard.com/business/touring/coachella-2026-lineup-why-festival-tickets-on-sale-early-1236067743/) began to favor an earlier reveal. The festival sold roughly 80,000 tickets per weekend in 2024\. That figure [reportedly](https://www.billboard.com/business/touring/coachella-2026-lineup-why-festival-tickets-on-sale-early-1236067743/) rose to 120,000 per weekend in 2025 after organizers unveiled the lineup and put tickets on sale the previous November. A stronger bill—Lady Gaga, Green Day, Post Malone, Travis Scott—likely played a role, but the experiment worked well enough for the festival to move even faster the following year, [unveiling the 2026 lineup](https://people.com/coachella-2026-announces-lineup-headliners-sabrina-carpenter-justin-bieber-karol-g-11810719) on September 16, 2025\. There is no official timetable for 2027, but if giving festivalgoers more time to buy tickets helped boost sales, another early-fall announcement would make sense. [Dua Lipa](https://time.com/collections/100-most-influential-people-2024/6964703/dua-lipa-time100-2024/) is the frontrunner to headline Coachella, with Kalshi's market implying a 52% chance of her claiming the top line. There is no smoking gun pointing her to the desert: her latest album arrived in 2024, and no follow-up album has been announced. But Lipa has yet to play the festival in her career and is now undeniably big enough to make her debut on the mainstage. Lipa's _Radical Optimism_ tour was the [third-highest-grossing pop tour](https://www.billboard.com/lists/top-pop-tours-2025/kylie-minogue-4/) of 2025, trailing only Lady Gaga and Ed Sheeran. The speculation surrounding Radiohead stems from more than radical optimism. After returning to the road in 2025 for its first shows since 2018, the band has said it [plans to play 20 dates](https://ca.billboard.com/music/rock/radiohead-20-shows-different-continents-starting-2027-1236200922/) in 2027, with [North America](https://www.rollingstone.co.uk/music/radiohead-will-play-20-shows-per-year-on-a-different-continent-from-2027-59654/) among the continents under consideration. Radiohead has already headlined the desert three times, tying Red Hot Chili Peppers for the most in festival history. Coachella has kept the relationship warm, teaching _Kid A_ to the kids through the band's [Kid A Mnesia audiovisual installation](https://pitchfork.com/news/radiohead-announce-kid-a-mnesia-installation-tour/?utm%5Fsource=chatgpt.com). Thom Yorke and co. also have unfinished business after [sound failures](https://www.bbc.com/news/newsbeat-39608403) repeatedly interrupted their 2017 headlining set, when [Yorke quipped](https://variety.com/2017/music/news/radiohead-walks-off-stage-twice-at-coachella-after-major-sound-difficulties-1202031253/), "I'd love to tell a joke to lighten the mood, but we're Radiohead." For a group rationing itself to 20 shows, Indio offers an efficient two-for-one: a record and a redo. Miley Cyrus is trading at a 30% implied probability, and her reluctance to tour may actually strengthen her case. After releasing _Something Beautiful_ in 2025, Cyrus confirmed she had "[no desire](https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cvgwenr7qngo)" to tour the record.
