George Orwell meant it as a warning: "Big Brother is watching you." Producers turned it into one of reality television's longest-running programs—one of the few that still earns the "reality" label.

No phones. No outside contact. A 24/7 live feed surveilling every move. Each week, one houseguest is evicted from the [_Big Brother_](https://time.com/collections/reality-tv-most-influential-seasons/6197749/big-brother/) house in a live ceremony until the last name on the metaphorical lease claims the $750,000 prize. Outside the house, traders are pricing a purse of their own: roughly [$4 million has been traded on Kalshi's _Big Brother_ markets](https://kalshi.com/category/culture/big-brother?status=all), with about half the volume tied to the season-winner market and the rest spread across weekly eviction contracts.

Reality television may be prediction markets' easiest cultural sell—and their hardest category to keep clean. Some reality shows tape months in advance, turning prediction markets into tests of leaks. Others let audiences vote on the winner, turning markets into measures of fandom. Earlier this year, [_Survivor_ exposed how pre-taped reality shows can turn nonpublic information into a trading edge](https://time.com/partner-content/prediction-markets/survivor-50-in-the-hands-of-the-traders/).

Aubry Bracco, the eventual winner of _Survivor 50_, was trading at an 82% implied win probability one month before the season even premiered. Her contract climbed as high as 88% the week of the premiere, an extraordinary level of confidence for a show that featured 24 castaways—in a liquid market that drew more than $33 million in trading volume. Host Jeff Probst was unnerved by how much the market seemed to know, saying, "[Clearly, if 90% of people are voting for somebody, there's a leak](https://variety.com/2026/tv/news/survivor-jeff-probst-kalshi-polymarket-spoilers-1236757354/)."

_Big Brother_'s advantage is simple: the winner has not been decided yet. Alliance shifts play out on a [Paramount+ live feed](https://www.paramountplus.com/sneak-peak/big-brother-live-feeds/), evictions air live, and the houseguests find out who's going home at the same time as the viewers. The result is a reality television market that operates with the efficiency of a traditional book—suggesting the wisdom of the crowd can turn unscripted drama into a sharp pricing engine.

## Big Brother Season 28 Odds

Here's a look at the [odds for who will win Big Brother Season 28](https://kalshi.com/markets/kxbigbrother/who-will-win-big-brother/kxbigbrother-26dec31), per Kalshi.

![](https://gcp-na-images.contentstack.com/v3/assets/bltea6093859af6183b/blt7ad80a815d637f92/6a6cc42c48195826027a35e7/Screenshot_2026-07-31_at_10.49.26_AM.png?branch=main_v1)

With more than $1.9 million in trading volume, the _Big Brother_ winner market looks sharp. There are currently 14 houseguests remaining. An equal-weighted market would give each player a 7.1% chance to win. Kalshi's median probability sits at 6%.

And the deviations appear rational: Dee Valladares and Rick Devens—two _Survivor_ alums—are favored at 19% and 18% implied probabilities, respectively. Most of the [_Big Brother_ cast](https://www.paramountplus.com/sneak-peak/big-brother-season-28-cast/) are reality TV novices: a jumbotron engineer, a rocket scientist, a pickleball coach. Valladares and Devens are battle-tested.

Valladares won the 45th season of _Survivor_ while Devens competed twice, finishing fourth and seventh. By pricing them at a premium, traders aren't just betting on recognizable names. They are treating reality competition experience—the ability to scheme, form alliances, and survive the block—as a quantifiable advantage. The rookies stay pinned to the baseline. The veterans get priced like favorites. The CBS competition show has produced an odds board that resembles a PGA Tour futures market.

The _Survivor_ controversy suggested demand was still there, even as the pre-taped format underscored the need for better prediction-market safeguards. "If the market volume on _Survivor_ is any indication, this isn't something that's stopping people from caring about _Survivor_," a [Kalshi spokesperson](https://variety.com/2026/tv/news/survivor-jeff-probst-kalshi-polymarket-spoilers-1236757354/) said in a statement, adding that the platform is "looking to add additional product features to prevent spoilers."

_Big Brother_ may not need them. Three weeks into its 12-week run, its markets are tracking toward more than $16 million in trading volume as its real-time format gives traders a game to analyze, not a finished ending to uncover.
