Chase just extended its partnership with DoorDash and Lyft — meaning Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card or the Chase Sapphire Reserve® cardholders can continue earning bonus points from the ridesharing and food delivery services for years to come.
The Chase Sapphire cards are two of our top travel credit card picks. And though these partner benefits have been part of both cards’ offerings for a while, they were limited time offers with an expiration date. However, with the renewed partnership, you can continue to earn up to 10X points with Lyft and complimentary DoorDash DashPass for a minimum of one year, depending on your card.
Here’s everything to know about the extended partner offers from Chase. And if you’re on the fence about getting either Chase Sapphire card, here’s how to choose which one is best for you.
DoorDash Benefits from Chase
Chase Sapphire Preferred Card DoorDash Benefits
For Chase Sapphire Preferred cardholders, Chase extended its complimentary DoorDash DashPass membership until Dec. 31, 2024. The subscription usually costs $9.99 per month and includes a few perks — such as $0 delivery fees, reduced service fees for over $12, and other benefits.
The offer is for a minimum of one year, until the deadline. That means if you activate anytime between now and Dec. 31, 2023, your expiration date will be Dec. 31, 2024. If you activate DashPass anytime between Jan. 1, 2024 and Dec. 31, 2024, your expiration date will be one year from the activation.
Chase Sapphire Reserve DoorDash Benefits
Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders will also get the minimum one-year complimentary DashPass subscription, through Dec. 31, 2024.
But Chase is adding a new perk for the Reserve, too: $5 per month in DoorDash credits. If you don’t use your credit each month, it will be carried over for two months before expiring — meaning you can accrue up to $15 to use at once before the $5 credits begin to expire.
Chase Freedom and Chase Slate cardholders can qualify for 3 months of free DashPass (when you activate by Dec. 31, 2024). After the first 3 months, you’ll be auto-enrolled in 9 months of DashPass with a 50% discount. After the first 12 months, you’ll be auto-enrolled into full-price membership.
Lyft Benefits from Chase
Chase Sapphire Preferred Card Lyft Benefits
Get 5X points on Lyft rides with your Sapphire Preferred card through March 31, 2025. That’s an extra 3X points on top of the 2X points that the card already offers for travel purchases. If you’re already a frequent Lyft rider, the card could help you earn points toward future trips and offset the $95 annual fee.
The same 5X earn applies to other Chase cards too, in addition to the Sapphire Preferred. Here are other Chase cards offer 5% cash back or 5X points through March 2025 as a part of the extended Lyft offer:
- Chase Freedom Flex℠ Card
- Chase Freedom Unlimited®
- Chase Freedom Student
- Chase Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card
- Chase Ink Business Cash® Credit Card
- Chase Ink Plus® Credit Card
- Chase Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card
Chase Sapphire Reserve Lyft Benefits
With the Chase Sapphire Reserve, Chase’s $550 premium travel card, you can earn 10X points on Lyft rides through March 31, 2025. Since rideshares typically fall under the card’s 3X points on travel purchases, that’s a big increase — especially if Lyft is already your preferred rideshare service.
Previously, you could also get a complimentary Lyft Pink membership with the Sapphire Reserve, for 15% off each ride, priority airport pickups, and more. If you activated membership through your card before March 31, 2022, it is valid for one year from the activation date. However, Lyft Pink is not a part of the extended bonus points offer.

How to Decide Between the Chase Sapphire Preferred and Chase Sapphire Reserve
The Chase Sapphire Preferred Card and the Chase Sapphire Reserve are both among our favorite cards for travelers on the market today. If you’re considering either card, start by looking at your spending compared the bonus categories and added benefits you’ll get — plus how frequently you travel — to find the best fit for you.
The Chase Sapphire Reserve has a $550 annual fee, compared to the $95 Sapphire Preferred Card. The Reserve currently offers a 50,000-point bonus when you spend $4,000 within three months of account opening, while the Chase just increased the Sapphire Preferred welcome bonus to a sky-high 80,000 points when you spend the same $4,000 within three months.
When it comes to rewards, the Sapphire Reserve offers:
- 10X points on hotels and car rentals booked through Chase Ultimate Rewards®
- 5X points on air travel booked with Chase
- 3X points on all other travel
- 3X points on dining
- 1X points for all other purchases
The Sapphire Preferred, on the other hand, offers:
- 5X points on travel booked with Chase Ultimate Rewards®
- 3X points on dining
- 3X points on select streaming services
- 3X points on online grocery purchases
- 2X points on all other travel
- 1X points on all other purchases
The big differences between these cards — and what can go a long way in justifying the annual fees — is the added benefits and redemption values you’ll get. If you’re a frequent traveler, you could benefit from the Reserve card’s $300 travel credit and a $100 TSA Precheck/Global Entry credit. And the points you earn are worth 50% more when you use them for booking travel through Chase.
On the other hand, the Preferred doesn’t have as many perks as the Reserve, but you’ll still earn points towards future trips with a lower annual fee. And you’ll get a 25% boost on your points when you redeem them for travel through Chase.
You can redeem your bonus points earned from Lyft, DoorDash, and more at a 25% boosted rate towards Airbnb purchases through June 30, 2022 or select charities through Dec. 31, 2022.
