Chow Correspondent  Paul Morigi—Getty Images Crypto-powered prediction market platform Polymarket regularly facilitates more than $1 billion a month in trading volume, allowing users to bet on anything from elections and military invasions to Taylor Swift’s next album. The company has recently turned a corner: For years, it was banned from servicing U.S. users. The FBI even searched the home of CEO Shayne Coplan in 2024 as part of a probe into whether the company was flouting federal rules. “Having to exit the U.S. market four years ago was a tough setback, but we knew we were on the right side of history,” says Coplan. The regulatory landscape shifted in Polymarket’s favor under the Trump Administration. Federal agencies dropped their investigations, and in July, cleared the way for Polymarket to legally provide betting ­markets.
