Best known for her videos [performing](https://www.tiktok.com/@shinanova/video/6959714777908202757?lang=en "undefined") traditional Inuit throat singing with her mother, Novalinga also offers explanations of cultural practices, including the use of Ulu knives or the significance of Tunniit (face tattoos); her content has led to collaborations with brands like Sephora Canada. Novalinga’s work has also brought attention to issues including food insecurity in Canadian Inuit communities and the [epidemic of missing and murdered Indigenous women](https://time.com/5600293/canada-indigenous-women-genocide/ "undefined") in Canada.
