The UFC commentator turned podcaster signed a reported $250 million deal with Spotify in 2024 for _The Joe Rogan Experience_, the most popular podcast in the U.S., according to Edison Research. On the show, he hosts multiple sprawling interviews a week with leaders across politics, religion, technology, science, pseudoscience, and everything in between. In June, he talked to Senator Bernie Sanders, documentarian Ken Burns, and a Texas doctor who was suspended by her hospital for spreading COVID-19 misinformation. Rogan, who has captured a huge, and overwhelmingly male, listenership, does not adhere to strict political labels: he distrusts government mandates, for example, but champions universal health care. His ideological flexibility has made him a hero to many tired of strict partisanship and looking for a voice to trust. Yet his commentary and his willingness to platform virtually anyone he deems interesting—including those who promote conspiracy theories and [target trans people](https://glaad.org/gap/joe-rogan/), among other marginalized groups—has drawn criticism.
