In 2015, at just 12 years old, the Bay Area native became the world’s youngest transgender model at the time. By 16, she had signed with IMG Models, the high-powered agency that represents [Ashley Graham](https://time.com/6985846/ashley-graham-body-self-love-essay/ "undefined"), [Paloma Elsesser](https://time.com/collection/time100-next-2021/5937618/paloma-elsesser/ "undefined"), and the Hadid sisters. Last year, Consani, a fixture in shows for luxury fashion houses including Alexander McQueen, Burberry, and Chanel, became the first openly trans person to win Model of the Year at London’s Fashion Awards—and one of the first to walk in a Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. But Consani’s influence extends beyond the catwalk. In 2020, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, she began posting absurdist videos on [TikTok](https://www.tiktok.com/@captincroook?lang=en "undefined"), dressing up as _Despicable Me_’s Gru, singing an unabashedly off-key rendition of Taylor Swift’s “Mean,” and swirling a carafe of “fancy” water while contorting her face to a song by the rap supergroup Rich Gang.
